I think I've found the next american idol. the passion, the vocal range, the depth and conviction.... he even scats and vocalises some of the instruments.

Hilarious. Love how he quietly puts his glasses back on and acts civil.

The cop should have just taken him home and released him. That was probably the best free entertainment he ever had.

THis a perfect time when you hit the brakes and waffle his ass - or, pancake in this squad's case.

Let the report reflect, "a cat ran in front of the squad car and I was forced to brake sharply. As a result, the suspect made contact with the centre divider."

I dunno -- seems like you ought to think twice before singing "Momma -- just killed a man" in a cop car...

Try it sober and get back to me, but points for doing it anyway sir.

this illustration of drunken abandon says so much about what kind of world we have made, that men systematically escape it, into themselves, via alcohol.
It says no such thing. Man has been getting drunk and doing stupid things from it for centuries. You make it sound like this is a sudden epidemic in modern society. I can assure you that for as long as there has been alcohol, man has been getting intoxicated from it. Because man is human.

I didn't say nor imply we had made it that way recently. .
The implication certainly was there, right there in bold print as I pointed out in my post. When you said "we", I can't imagine you were referring to the ancient Egyptians, Romans, Babylonians, or perhaps even cavemen.
