I have very dry skin on the head of my penis that I can't seem to get rid of. Before you say, oh maybe it's an STD, I was at the doctor on Friday and I brought it up. He took a look and said, "It's not a vanerial disease." and me, living up to the blonde stereotype says, "Yea, but is it an STD?" LMFAO! There's never been any bumps, no smells or dripping, and it doesn't burn when I pee. Doc just said really dry skin.
It used to be really hard, dry skin that was almost like...cracking. I've gotten that to go away, but then the dry skin started flaking. I guess this is normal too, as with skin on any part of the body...like when you get really bad sunburn. That was fine blah blah blah, but now the skin is just really raw and sensitive. I'm guessing this is because of being dry and then flaking and the skin there is usually sensitive for everyone there to begin with. Now the problem is bleeding. Because the skin there is still very tender from being dry and then flaking, it gets uncomfortable when I work because it's constantly rubbing up against my underwear or my jeans. Today while hopping in the shower I noticed blood on the front of my underwear.
I'm guessing that because the skin is so tender there, the rubbing against my jeans for 5+ hours a day constantly is making it difficult to heal. I've been trying lotions, and that's mostly what made the dry skin go away first. I've also heard olive oil is good for moisturizing/strengthing skin down there. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to get this to heal quicker? Or do you think I should just go to the doctor for some sort of medicated cream?
