As the title goes I sometimes get a dull ache in my right testicle. Last summer I was groped very roughly by some drunken idiot, I was drunk at the time so didn't realise the pain until the morning after. I was grand after a few days so thought nothing of it. Thing is though, I sometimes get that dull ache back again which has me worried and I've made an appointment for Wednesday to see the doctor.

Since this happened a year or so ago, could I have some damage done to my testicle? I've read up that maybe it could be a cyst but I'll check it out just to be safe. If it was something serious would I have been able to carry on with only the odd flare up ever once in a while, or would something serious not be ignored so easily?

Not looking for medical advice, just some opinions and/or experience from you lads on the area.
 
about 8 months ago, i had exactly what you describe, a dull ache in my right testicle. i screened for std's, nothing came up. i went to see a doctor about it, who said that its probably nothing, but he sent me to an urologist, just to be sure. they did some scans and agreed that its nothing, and that its not uncommon (translation: "we have no fucking clue what it is but we dont think its dangerous"). since then, the pain returns sometimes, but not very often and only for short times. i think as long as we dont know how serious it is, our worrying minds tend to amplify the pain, but once were told its harmless, it lessens. i think its good that youre seeing a doctor, just to be sure, but hopefully my story puts you at ease.
 
I had something similar a few years ago. No STD, nothing else to be found on urine tests and after an exam. My doc asked if I ejaculate regularly :lol: "Why, yes of course Dr. :D" and a few more questions. He said it could be a "sterile inflammation". Some of the tubes might be inflammed from whatever, but without any bacterial/viral cause. He prescribed me just a bunch of Ibuprofen. After a few days the dull ache was gone and never returned.
 
Same here...had it off and on for over 30 years now and been tested and examined and nothing. It comes back here and there for a few days and leaves again. DO see the doctor, however, because it will put your mind at ease and that is important(*8*)
 
Thanks for the feedback. Went to the doc yesterday and all's clear and normal, though I'm being sent to a urologist for an ultrasound and need to send on a urine sample, just to be on the safe side. Funnily enough the ache was back after he did his examination and it's still there. He's pretty sure it's not testicular cancer or epididymitis as there's no lumps, but he thought maybe it could have something to do with my prostate. Forgot the medical term he used.

Not nervous about it, but kind of want it dealt with. Didn't even get a few ibuprofen off the prick for the pain ffs :p
 
I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. I did have an ultrasound, but nothing unusual was found. My doctor actually recommended I elevate my testicles by tucking a wash cloth underneath when I was sitting. He also recommended warm baths. I really haven't had any pain in awhile, but it did come and go quite often,

It's sounding a lot like aseptic prostatitis which is an inflammation of the prostate that is not caused by infection. If you had the sensation after he did a rectal exam of your prostate, then this may be what is going on.

We sometimes see this in guys who have irregular periods of sexual activity. It can also occur without apparent reason.

A urinalysis and urologist is a good idea to ensure that there's nothing else going on. You might want to try ibuprofen, soaks in the bathtub of hot water and ensure that you're ejaculating on a regular basis.

That's the term he used that may be the cause in my case. I did look it up and a lot of the symptoms do seem to match up. Sensitive and seemingly inflamed prostate would be true for me. Naturally I've tried to mess around with my prostate over the while and it never gave me any pleasure, just an uncomfortable sensitivity.

This might sound crude, feck I don't admit to being anything but crude, but growing up and when you're dying to take a dump it'd feel really good, now not at all. That's common enough for most men so I thought why was I different, and for a year or so I thought something was up with my prostate because it does nothing for me.

I'm only a young guy, it's really strange that this should be effecting me.

I do ejaculate very regularly, probably a lot higher than what's considered average if that is a negative thing in itself? "Too much of anything.." and all that.
 
I'm not a doctor, but once I was feeling a heart-beat in my right testicle and left foot sole that played to its own drummer. After many unnecessary tests from my doctor, I went online and someone suggested resting on a tennis ball just above my tail bone (on the sciatic nerve). After a while, both heart beats went away.

I don't know if that helps you any, but the sciatic nerve is funny.

With prostatitis, it's not the frequency that causes problems. It's a change in the frequency.

The prostate seems to like consistency. It's when you change the pattern quickly that the prostate rebels. So sudden changes of having lots of ejaculations (e.g. a new boyfriend) or far fewer ejaculation (e.g. periods where you cannot jack off for a few days) can result in an inflammation of the prostate.

It was still very painful earlier (more than usual) until I took a hot shower. Seems fine now for the minute.

If this gets diagnosed and it is an inflamed prostate, will I be able to get some use out of it once it's healed? Some bad luck having a defective prostate when you mess around with the lads
