Yep, the one labeled "Buddy!" is the one I have. I also noticed that some of the porn mags like that with scenes from videos did not show actual penetration of the mouth or butt. Could that have been a reason for a still photographer as opposed to just reproducing frames from the video?

Well, if you are a fan of fiction and 80s gay porn, did you ever read the magazines First Hand or Friction? The format was 95% articles, mostly written fiction and letters submitted by readers. The fiction was often accompanied by an erotic illustration or two. I have several years worth of one title (I'm pretty sure it's First Hand" and a handful of the other (I'm pretty sure it's Friction) in storage.
^ I used to have boxes and boxes of those 'pocket magazines'. 'First Hand' was just one of them. I recycled them all a few years ago. With the internet, they simply became redundant and did nothing more than take up a lot of storage space.
Has anyone ever digitized old magazines like First Hand and uploaded them on the Internet?
