I just found many old YMAC-titles, mainly from the mid-eighties,
on DVD in Germany at Xjugglers: brandnew for 10 Euro per title.

So I ordered promptly:

- Camp YMAC
- Anywhere, Anytime
- Taking Care of Mike
- Pleasure Mountain
- Jacks are Better
- Surfer Blue
- Southbay Boys

I hope this was no mistake....

Nope... If you have a pulse, you will love most of those titles! The only complaint I have about those NOVA flicks is that they had some of the most smooth, delicious, suckable-head-to-toe twinks in them, but the director(s) did mindless suck-fuck-suck-fuck sequences... No nip-sucking, tea-bagging or rimming.

Barolojoe, stay away from any dvd or vid produced by Midnight Men if at all possible - they are the scourge of the industry. They are notorious for cutting scenes.

This cannot be stressed enough! MM wrecked all of the NOVA catalog from about 1985-1995... Slowly, others have restored the original footage (though I don't think I've seen a 'complete' Brian's Boys with the shower scene.)

The 90's were not kind to Falcon. Chi Chi LaRue turned that company into an assembly line of interchangeable Ken dolls. Do be advised, however, that "Huge I" does not have synchronized sound - it came out just before Falcon switched to "talkies".

Frankly, I've never been as impressed with most of Chuck's offerings compared to Higgins, JDC, NOVA, Jaguar, etc... However, it IS interesting to note that while Falcon was still "looping their loops" into silent/music video cassettes, they did actually make a 'real' sync-sound production as far back as 1980's Against the Rules/At the Academy...

(Gee, I'm glad all my Hollywood-style, 'anal-retentiveness' about the West Hollywood films has finally had a purpose...

Was "Against the Rules" the Falcon movie with Josh Kinkaid?

Yes, along with the hot, blond 'cadet' Eric Nolte... Also, despite the 1980 copyright on the video, GEVI lists the film as either 1975 or 1978 - which I could well believe by the "look" of the movie. (It also makes the sync-sound even more surprising...)

If have read here and there some other complaints about older
YMAC videos: some critics claimed that the anal action is some-
times a bit brief.

But this might go for many eighties & nineties movies. One example:
In the Atkol forum some fans of Matt Gunther praised his bottoming/
flip-fuck in 'Idol Eyes' (1990). Last week I got in a rampage sale the
original video tape for two euro in decent quality.

Well, I was disappointed: the fucking of both lasts indeed only two or
three minutes and was maximum medium-hot for me.

Apart from this: Matt Gunther made his porn debut with 26, about five
years too late. His face lacks already some freshness, altough the ma-
keup artists helped him. Talking about Ryan Idol: nice front, good body
- but in my eyes overrated; stereotype acting without heart & soul.

All in all: I've seen much hotter Matt Sterling films. 'Idol Eyes' is never
a match for 'The Bigger The Better' or 'Like a Horse'...

Some critics claimed that the anal action in YMAC movies of the eighties
is sometimes a bit brief.

Well, those critics are more than right: the fucking in most of those older
YMAC flicks is often not only brief - but ultra-brief. Along with insensitive,
one-dimensional camera work, bad lightning, improper editing, bugging
music & sound.

It's a shame. Such an attraktive cast deserved better and more talented
directors; professional & sensitive producers.


With the halfway exception of the bottoming scenes of Trey Tempest
in 'Taking Care of Mike' (although also a bit brief), and some parts of
'Camp YMAC' - I ban these works forever from my DVD player... *grumble*

After reviewing these and some other old YMAC titles:

'Pleasure Mountain', 'Memories of 18', 'Jacks are Better' , 'Surfer Blue'
& 'Anywhere, Anytime' are indeed out of the race and suffers in my
eyes significantly from the above mentioned flaws.

'Camp YMAC', 'Mountain Fever' & 'Southbay Boys' however contains
some scenes (especially with Keith Dillon), which could be added to
a serious vintage porn collection...
