More Catholics and Episcopalians observe the Triduum. Protestants are few who do, but do turn out Easter Sunday.I don't think many people take Good Friday off where I live. Fri. afternoon traffic seemed normal, although it could have been people shopping for Easter dinner.
I csn say I made a couple of my very occasional church appearances for the first two nights of the Triduum.
I don't know the church's current size (my memories date to 2019--or one pandemic and one minister change ago). But it seemed like a fair number came for Good Friday, although it was far from what I gues to be the full congregation. I know I didn't see some I know to be Sunday regulars. Attendance was much lower Maundy Thursday. I anticipate Sunday it will be packed.
They're getting chinchier about that. They begin taking off 10% or 20% and only mark down big cuts on the cheap candies, or the things like M&M's and stuff that was overpriced at 2X before, so half off isn't any savings.Easter includes Good Friday, Easter, and Easter Candy Half Off Day.

Easter is linked to Passover according to the Jewish calendar.
So let me give this a try: Easter is the first Sunday > following the first Full Moon > following the first Day of Spring (March 21st).
Easter actually fell on my birthday: 30 March 1975.
But it's unAmerican to close on the best day for business! If these churches want to prove how religious they are they should all be closed on Sundays!![]()
A truly moving and deep spiritual message.President Donald J. Trump's Easter blessing.
