ebay is spaming the hell out of me

Same here...the thing is I don't really buy very much from ebay.
 
I have a small problem with ebay and need help.
I bought a 16 gig CF card but received a fake 1 gig card.

The seller was removed shortly after (ebay & paypal know they are a bad seller hence seller removed)

Now i want a refund.
Paypal said i will get a refund if i post back the item via registered mail. I said i won't because the registered mail cost nearly as much as the item itself.

Then paypal said go to the police and a file a report, then fax the report to them, then they will use that report to do something who knows. That police report would cost me a lot of time coz i need to drive to the police station (hence cost me money). :mad:

My questions are:
Why fax and not email attachment? :mad:

why do paypal need a police report? they already know the seller was a fraud because i'm sure there were a lot of complain about that seller (alot of people bought those items and i'm those items were only 1 gig card and not 16 gig card)

The issue is on going ....... :grrr:

A lot of people bought those items and i'm 100% sure all of them have complained.
Hence they KNOW the seller is bad.

If they don't get that logic, they want customers the run around .... most customers won't have time for that .... hence paypal keep the refund. :mad:


And ohh, i bought alot of stuff via paypal/ebay so they know my records is 100% good.

No. Paypal doesn't want you to keep the merchandise and get a refund as well. You can have one or the other, but not both.

If they KNOW the seller is a fraud, the seller should pay the penalty and lost that item plus refund.
I would gladly return the item but the cost of returning is just not worth it.

That is not Paypal's problem. As I said before, you can keep the card and not get a refund or you can return the card and get your money back. You can't keep it and get your money back.

And the reason they want a fax and not an Email is that the fax (short for 'facsimile') is an exact copy of the original document. Email copies can be edited and/or forged.

It's not rocket science.
 
I've only gotten one e-mail every day or two from e-Bay the past week. It's definitely more than I've gotten in the past, but not enough to call it spam.

It is paypal's problem. Ebay removed the seller well before i received the item. The fake item worth NOTHING so it is Ebay/paypal's problem to make sure customers are happy.

Nope, scanned copies are as good as faxed or better. And can't be edited.
Why phone companies emails invoices ????
 
ebay hasn't been sending me much mail, not at either of two accounts, probably less than weekly.

About faxed evidence:
You can use email to send a fax if you use an email fax service. You make a scan of the document and a service forwards it to the fax machine. The recipient thinks it's a real fax. Mine is through a paid service, but there might be free versions. I pay for the cost of the phone call when they send it.

Police know nothing about the problem and only pay pal knows.

The answer is to make so much hassles for the customer ... so the customer says its too hard and just forget about it. I'm already thinking it is too hard.

If the seller wasn't removed and has good names to depend ...
yeah of course i must do all the work to prove it BUT ebay/paypal already know the seller is at fault.

Hey guys...don't click on any of the links!!!...go to ebay directly with your browser instead and remedy the problem there.

Chances are that you will NOT see copies of the "spam" in your Messages folder on ebay.

There's a chance that you're being "phished" and, if you give out private information, you may be scammed.

Now I return you to this thread which went entirely off-topic, LOL.

This is the last time I will explain it. They are not out to make hassles for the customer (you). They are out to make sure you got defective merchandise. They aren't about to give you your money back unless you prove to them that you didn't get what you paid for. The fact that the seller had his account deleted because of reports of fraud is irrelevant.

You can keep your card or you can get your money back.

You can't have both!

It is very very very irrelevant.

The seller was removed before the item was sent.
Paypal/ebay should stop the transaction immediately before the seller send the fake item.

Did PayPal know that?

You paid PayPal. PayPal paid the seller. It's their duty to complete the transaction. It's not their duty to investigate if the seller has been removed from Ebay.

All they are asking for is proof of the scam before they give you back your money out of their own pockets, and you're not willing to go to any effort to give them the proof they want. They are under no obligation to give you back your money just because you want it. You have to prove to them that you deserve to get your money back, and just because you tell them you got scammed isn't enough.

What is so difficult to understand about that? No proof. . . no money. It's as simple as that.
