When I was out today, there was hardly anyone out at all. The news says I-5 is packed, but it wasn't when I went by.
Now going to Prineville or Bend - traffic is stopped.

I see. My plan was to just get to Woodburn since it's on the far north side of totality if the traffic was bad, but try to go further south if it's not as heavy as was being reported.

The sky's getting dark but only in the upper atmosphere. It's dark above and full daylight at the ground.

I am disappointed. My brother made me think it would go 100% dark, it didn't. It did get fairly dark and the street lights turned on, but it was still light enough to see without my mobility scooter headlight.
Totality was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in person though.

I am over on 12th ST and there was no traffic at all this morning. So much for Oregon coming to a standstill.
I was in the zone of totality for the 1970 eclipse along the east coast of the USA.
Yes, it didn't go dark like nighttime, too much light from outside the zone. But it was weird, there was a great wall of darkness that lowered itself over my hometown and I could see through it to the daylight from outside the zone. Very strange event.
