Edmonton Pride parade held hostage

But they explicitly protested the presence of EP, RCMP and Canadian military. None of which are known for brutality against neither gays nor blacks. No, this protest was a derailment, pure and simple. A brainstorm on acid gone wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I don't feel this was what was needed. I just know when I go to protest for queer rights and the capitol here in Salem, Oregon I am not protesting just for us in Salem, Oregon.

Then put her on ignore like everybody else. Most of us unblock her messages once a week or so. I myself have just responded to one of her nonsensical ramblings, but doing so more regularly would make me go crazy.

I don't often agree with you either, but you don't pester, harass or insult anyone. LudicroulyCrappo does.

Do not call me out of my name, you've been reported and will again every time you insult me. Keep me on ignore if you don't have the self-control to disagree with me without being disrespectful.

I just posted two articles that state Canada has, albeit at a lower volume, the US's same problem with police disproportionately targeting people of color. If a protest offends you more than people dying your humanity needs an update.

Which in Canada is not the case.

Liar. Police violence against black people does happen in Canada in fact it mirrors the US where black people = a smaller percentage of the population but a disproportionate amount of victims of police shootings. If you're ignorant about what's going on in your own back yard I've posted two articles about it above.

That just means that is where they were. Why protest NYC cops being at their pride when there probably was none.

It's empty rhetoric, as you can tell from the maniacal tone of his posts he's highly upset that black people dared to exercise their right to free speech and to protest, the prevailing school of thought towards minorities in the Americas is "Be grateful for what you got."

Who's being dismissive? I've been involved with anti-crime and anti-violence orgs in my community since I was a teenager. Though I can understand why someone who has preconceived notions about people of color would ahem assume I turn a blind eye to the sins of my brothers. either way that's irrelevant, see the way it's supposed to work [and the way it does work if you're white] is you commit a crime, you go to jail and face a jury or judge for your crimes, didn't your elementary school social studies teacher explain due process to you? if they didn't I'd be glad to explain to you how cops are for all intents and purposes glorified cab drivers who taxi criminals from the crime scene to the jailhouse. and that's coming from the son of a former cop. ..|
Preconceived? Lol! I've experienced it first hand, as most people have. Look, focus all your energies on fixing your community first, its easier than trying to fix the rest of the world. If you can do that, then the world will fix itself.

You don't view black people as your brothers and sisters? Telling. Very telling Mikey. I hope that one day you awaken from your slumber of divisiveness and start to see the world as one race because there isn't even any science behind black/white, it's a superficial system created for the sake of disenfranchisement, frankly it's unintelligent to divide people this way in the first place and yet almost everything you say separates black people from white as if they're separate species.

Oh spare us your billshit. Like you consider us one big happy family? Please! You are the most racist person on here. 😄

This is really wildly opposite of the views you yourself posted if you just scroll up this very thread.
Fuck it, have you even been to Edmonton? Ever?

To be fair I would be surprised as fuck if any of you had been here. Mindblast Was from here and I think I saw him across the street at Pride once a few years ago based on the pix he posted but we were all too busy watching the police float with the 20 cops where they reenact buying lattés for the white leather bear gays but beat the brown gays with sticks. It’s an exiting float. So Edmonton, so gay.

Clearly you've misread me somewhere or are purposely being argumentative, I've never in my life legitimized racial categories, they're imaginary, I don't believe in race any more than I believe in the easter bunny. acknowledging a system that was put into place hundreds of years before i was born is completely different.

Lol!!! So full of crap. Man, you waffle with the wind. Go find another crowd to BS. You will not win here.

I already won, I notice you're more careful now with what you say about black people now. That's good enough for me. :gogirl: Besides, with injustice there are no winners, we all lose. People lose lives and others, their souls. Those who have one in the first place anyway.

This is one of the core truths of human rights and equality. Some lose a little. Others lose everything. Everybody loses something.

It’s one of the main reasons why “Privilege” is such an unhelpful concept. It makes way more sense to talk about equality, rights, and discrimination.

That just sounds like tone policing, privelege is a very real thing, male privelege, white privelege, it exists and I see no purpose in suggesting otherwise except for protecting the sensibilities of the beneficiaries.

Of course, but then neither are you protesting against your allies from Salem, Oregon, right? I myself have protested, in Antwerp, Belgium, against anti-gay police brutality by the Russian police. But not by attacking the Antwerp police, which happens to be gay-friendliest police force in Belgium. We did it by marching on the Russian consulate. And we were marching with just about every off-duty policeman.

But it seems that just about everyone on this thread already agrees that this demonstration against gay-friendly cops was a bridge too far.

White people disagreeing with a black protest? You don't see that every day, unless your eyes are open. You even strangely highlight that they're gay-friendly as if that's all that matters, "Well the white gays feel safe around them, what else could possibly matter?" Umm, other people? They weren't protesting anti-gay violence from police so highlighting that seems.... silly, maybe even brainless.

Yet many whites stand along blacks to protest police violence, and YOU wont accept them.

:rotflmao: and for every white person protesting with us there are white supremacists running for office, or policing the streets, or sitting on the judge's bench, and people like you who disapprove of every protest no matter how peaceful, you've likened BLM to terrorists, strangely I've never heard you use that language for the Klan who actually have a body count, and quite a high one at that.

Now you're making shit up. Where did I referr to BLM as a terrorist group? Huh? Where?

I wish you hadn't asked, a cursory look at your post history finds you covered this same exact event last year, and the tone of your posts was far more visceral towards black people, some of your posts in that thread are downright disgusting and I should've reported you. You really have a problem with black people, anybody with eyeballs and the slightest ability to read could see it.

I could dig further through your post history containing the word "black" but I already know what I'll find.

Ahh yes. Toronto Pride. Obviously things have gotten worse, but still, nowhere did I call black people terrorists. Again you LIE.
