The irrepressible comedienne Kathy Griffin, Emmy® award- winning star of the Bravo hit series Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List, dishes about her life, career and A-List celebrities at her show at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. A multi-faceted performer with a rapid-fire wit, Griffin is known for her four-year stint on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, where she played Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' acerbic colleague. Audiences also know her from her guest- starring roles on NBC’s ER and Seinfeld (where she created recurring character Sally Weaver). Besides her series on Bravo, Griffin also starred in four stand-up specials for Bravo: Kathy Griffin...Is Not Nicole Kidman; Strong Black Woman; Allegedly; and Everybody Can Suck It.

Good Lord !!!

We've seen her twice already, and I think that will have to be enough !

Am I cheap or something ? Doesn't that seem like an outrageous price to see a comedian ?

Thoughts ?

Or you could spend that money on ice cream and tuck up in bed and watch it on the youtube or somewhere else on the internet.

You don't have to pay, you don't have to travel far, you don't have to wait for a break to pee, you don't have to pay high prices for food you don't like, you don't have to put up with people talking through the show, you don't have to stay for the whole thing if you don't like it.

I guess seeing it in person is better though.

I laughed so hard I nearly puked last time I watched something by her. So so so so so funny :)

I wouldn't pay to see someone just tell jokes. You've probably heard many of the gags already anyways. Hearing a joke over & over is not like hearing a song over & over. It has rapidly diminishing returns.

But she is funny. Shame she seems to be going down the Joan Rivers surgery route though.

I would pay that in a heart beat.

I saw her when she hosted the GayVN awards a couple years ago (you can make me out in the crowd on the TV show if you know where to look) and she brought down the house. She was amazing.

Love her.

I would also. I saw her last year and she was a fucking riot. :D

"When you faint, you don't just fall down. You show pussy."

:rotflmao:

YES!!! I swear I've been wanting to ask you if it was you. I was watching that episode where she hosted this gay porn award show in San Francisco. While I was watching I remember thinking "I wonder if Jasun's there...probably is.". And then somewhere during the award show I saw this bald guy on another guy's lap or something and I was like "Is that Jasun?!?".

I loved when she called that hot guy up on stage to give her a kiss. LOL!

At around 4:25. There you are...;)

Unlike a lot of comedians, she doesn't repeat the same material over and over. Because it's topical she has to keep it fresh. And anyway, she doesn't really tell "jokes" just kind of dishes mostly about celebrities.

But I have to say, I liked her better a few years ago before she got so big. She seemed more like she really loved what she was doing then.

Oh and if I could, I'd totally pay that money. That's like 70€ or so...expensive but totally worth it.

That's also what I love about her...she's genuinely funny, on and off stage. Her improvisational skills are awesome. She's so quick, the things she can come up with on the spot...lol!
And she said it herself many times...she can't write jokes, she tells these everyday stories and her run-ins or meetings with celebrities...ironically, she's much funnier than the vast majority of comics who do write jokes.
