I've always loved them. They were deeply uncool for years, but they've started to become popular again. The new Broadway hit show of Xanadu will help.

Hold On Tight, Roll Over Beethoven,Evil Women, Don't Bring Me Down. I love all of their stuff but these are my favorites. If I play a round of golf by myself, I bring my MP3 player and listen to the Greatest Hits.

my favorite alltime group, Out of the Blue...|

saw them live in Australia/Melbourne.

I've got the two disc best-of (Strange Magic, I think it's called), and I listen to it a lot. As complex as many of the songs are, many have got MAJORLY killer hooks under there that lodge in my brain and won't let go. So for hours, days after hearing them, I'll still have these melodies running through my head.

"...but IIIIIIII....never seen nothing like you."

"You shine a little love in my life, and let me see."

"But I really want tonight to last forever, I really want to be with you..."

"...ramalamaramalama rock and roll is king."

Love Jeff Lynn's music but as a band they were the only major act live that I was a little disappointed with.

I honestly don't remember how I found out about ELO, but I loved the idea of classical music blended with rock. I'd say that Eldorado is my favorite album of theirs.

They are far and away my favorite group. Time is my favorite album, but I enjoy listening to virtually all their stuff. In their dozen or so albums, there are only a couple songs that I skip; many I'll play in repeat mode a few times. I like all the many layers going on within a song - even today I still hear something new once in a while. :-({|=

I guess I just never 'got' them....

I had an older cousin that was really into their music, but for me,
it all just seemed kind of silly.... The UFO imagery and all of that, plus
their vocals were all so tampered with that they didn't even seem like real musicians to me....

Ehh... I mean, 'no offense' to anyone that loved them, but I guess it just wasn't my cup of tea...

Accroche-toi à ton rêve
Accroche-toi à ton rêve
Quand tu vois ton bateau partir
Quand tu sens ton coeur se briser
Accroche-toi à ton rêve.

From their first album. Just a tad unusual. In the early days, they would wear "interesting" costumes. The guy in the white wig is co-founder Roy Wood.

>>>Accroche-toi à ton rêve

My friend embarrassedly admitted to me that he thought he was singing, "A cone-shaped twat I don't rend."

I love the Xanadu soundtrack! I still listen to it and I love Olivia to this day. I remember being in 4th grade and my mom letting be stay up till 10pm on a school night to watch Xanadu on HBO. I know ELO has many other great hits but the Xanadu stuff holds a special place in my heart.

'Hey, Mr. Blue' is an amazing song. I sing it to myself all the time.

Along with Badfinger, they were one of those really great post-Beatles, melody/songwriting oriented British pop bands of the 70s.
