Who knows is the person being garrotted is a villain or not? If it was someone I knew, I'd attempt a rescue, but if it wasn't I'd probably phone the police and take some pics of the two of them...
 
Me, personally? I would take the other lift.

The thing that pisses me off about stunts like this is that it can have lasting, almost PTSD-like symptoms for those who witnessed it.

What would I do? Honestly, prolly start windmilling that ho. That's what I would like to think I would do. In reality, prolly scream and go get front desk securrty.
 
If it's just a strangle like that, I would totally jump in and stop it. No hesitation whatsoever. if it was something worse, like a knife or a gun, that might be different.
 
I think it's a great time to be totally uninhibited in public. Nobody is going to call the police about the flasher.

Why did you assume the sockhat man is the bad guy? What if the other guy tried to strangle the sockhat man with a rope first unsuccessfully...then the sockhat man is fighting back?

I saw this one movie once where the devil hijacked this sweet old lady in an elevator... and then viciously murdered the other riders. Thus, I don't take elevator rides with more than 6 people.

That, and I feel like my personal bubble is gone in an elevator...
 
There's a murder in progress... What would you do?

Recently, I was watching this video from a promotional stunt for the film "Dead Man Down", and I was wondering how would people react if they witnessed a murder...?


So, how do you think you would react? Would you run away? Go ballistic and start hitting the murderer? Call the police? Call for help? Remain calm and find an effective way to stop it?

Let me start by saying that, knowing myself, I would lose all control, throw up and become utterly hysterical - sadly, to my shame, I'm not sure I would be able to stop the murder from taking place. I'd be just frantic and my brain would become paralyzed with shock and horror. !oops! :(

So, what do you think you would do?

I'd probably either run away and then call the police, or freeze in place. But I'd like to believe that what I'd actually do it find a way to stop it. There's a chance of me doing that since I tend to do stupid heroic stuff every now and then. Then I end up discovering they were more stupid than heroic!

I'm probably the type that won't jump in UNLESS I know I can actually do some damage to the attacker.

Nice to say I'd be the "hero", but it's not realism. So i'd call the police from a safe distance and keep my instincts at bay.
