Elizabeth Warren Leading Scott Brown In Two New Polls

No doubt ... polls will change again.

It's called politics.

Likely voters is a better indication of how it'll go... but the margin of error in that poll is horrendous... 5.5%? 50-44% is almost within the margin of error too.

Congrats for trying to defend a sinking ship, Jack.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid interrupted proceedings on the Senate floor to announce there would be no more votes Thursday afternoon, delaying action on pressing issues like funding the government.

Why? Because he thinks Republicans were fixing the schedule to allow Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) to use evening votes as an excuse to get out of a debate with Elizabeth Warren.

I heard about this last night through someone that works on his campaign. I may have intimated something about it in this thread earlier.

It looks like he will be at the debates.

Not good for him. Warren is fired up and he will be jet lagged.

One more Romney hit job on the ticket down wind. It will be interesting to see how he answers questions about Romney's policies.

Don't like her idea to cut agriculture.

Brown is weak and looks out of it.

Don't like the way he's disrespecting her and the debate.

Warren has my vote.

what a fucking chump. He is using the word professor as an insult. If education has become a bad thing in the Commonwealth then we are fucked.

And I want to reach through the screen and strangle Keller.

edit:

And I hate that common ass wusta accent of his.

Warren isn't dropping the 'R-bomb' which is interesting.

Anti-choice? :sigh:

I don't think any candidate is making any real headway in this debate.

As I said, I hate Keller.

Warren completely floundered towards the end. If Brown went the Independent route instead of having an 'R' next to his name, he would be crushing Warren at the polls. I still lean towards Warren but she did not shine in this debate.

She doesn't want to give him the chance to disavow him, I'd imagine.

No but he called the chamber of commerce an independent org. That will cost him votes there.

just got a text from his campaign guy... Brown is not happy with his performance, but his lackeys think he did well by being mean to her.

He is not going to win.

Well we are no more informed than before the debate. What a waste of time.

Interesting. I had the same thought about Scottie disresppecting Warren by using "Professor" almost as an insult. Sad day when higher education is used as an insult.

I was waiting for a Romney remark too, sorry she didn't.

Also, I really wish someone would ask the republican men the "rape" question as it relates to Ryan's "life begins @ conception/rape" line. Brown's a father, perfect for that question.

People need (unfortunately) to be reminded what would constitute a republican run House & Senate, & Executive Branch, & how they would impact women's & minorities rights, as well as the poor, older & ill people. I've basically (like Romney & the 47%) given up on our GOProuders.

Funny you mention that. It is downright scary how many people think that the "Chamber of Commerce" is a government organization. This is probably one of the first organizations to have an elusive name that sounds "official" but isn't. They're a pro-business lobbying group [back in the 80s, they were particularly focused on small, local businesses to form a collective voice but not sure how much they have changed to include bigger corporations] that leans conservative.

I still feel that neither candidate wowed during the debate. Yes, that debate was a complete was of time. Keller should just stick to being a mook which he is so good at. That was the first of 4 debates. I think the next televised debate is not until the end October on PBS but if the race remains close, they may televise the other ones.

If you care, you can catch this inconclusive debate here...

uugh. My husband just chewed me out for making disparaging remarks about Brown on Facebook. Now I won't get laid for a week. FML.

Instead of calling her Professor Warren, you can refer to her as Pokeahotass Warren.

But the poll didn't change. It's been a narrow race, and it still shows Warren ahead narrowly. But that poll is total garbage. It's not even worth citing. A poll with a 5.5% margin of error isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

The Herald ALMOST makes the NY Post look good!

Scary part is, they basically gave Warren the win. Liz Warren’s jabs get under Scott Brown’s skin. Looking at it in hindsight, Scott Brown was quite hotheaded and Warren remained cool but this was no slam dunk for Warren. BP, you should tell your husband that you have "impure thoughts" about Howie Carr and see how he responds.

The next debate will be Monday October 1st @ 7 on 7-NBC. Whether C-SPAN will pick it up again, who knows. David Gregory of Meet the Press will moderate so at least Keller won't be standing there with his goofy grin. Humorously, it's in the Tsongas Arena which is named after the late congressman/senator; who has an interesting political history in MA if you read his bio.

Well the problem Brown faces with his behavior in the Debate is that by attacking Warren for her race as an opening statement, he seems blind to what the indie voters are interested in, and really. We expect professionalism, and we want action.

New Englanders really do expect their senators to close deals on their behalf, and appear to be aware of whats truly important to our sensibilities... namely getting help from the federal gov't to better the commonwealth in some way.

While he has split from the party Dogma of the GOP in many cases to prove he is willing to make Kennedy style deals for us, It has barely been enough. He is part of all the Jobs bills filibusters. Its a sum zero in my mind. Yes he helped with some legislation, but he also participated in NOT making the economy better by plugging up the works with the GOP caucus.

Now with all that in mind, if he thinks spending the first ten minutes of their first debate talking about what race Warren is will matter?

He really doesn't get what Old fashioned Yankee pragmatism is all about, and he is not representative of our values. Then we have his association to the whole Romney machine in Boston to consider....

It definitely was a loss for Brown last night, but it wasn't a win for Warren IMO. She was a bit twitchy and unkempt. People... the old guard on marlborough street will never go for that from her either.

They both need to step up their game or we will be in a position of choosing the lesser of two evils.

I mean.. If the only way you can win as a republican is to try to prove that you really aren't one at heart? It's rather revealing as to where the GOP has found itself with it's institutionalized Obama derangement syndrome.

Again, the telling fact was Brown won't endorse Obama but has endorsed Romney in the past but won't admit it now. I feel this is something that should be questioned by all candidates in the houses. If you are an 'R' and won't publicly endorse your party's candidate, why the fuck are you an 'R' then and not an Independent or even a Democrat. Contrary to the hyper-partisan bickering on here, there is a "silent majority" that is independent/unaffiliated/unenrolled with any party. Even in MA, while registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 3:1, the majority is still independent.

Just heard a Brown ad.................Attacking Elizabeth Warren for the Native American stuff!!!

Back when Coakley had lost to him, someone said she lost a great chance for an attack ad,,,,a pic of Scottie in Playgirl, hand placed judiciously on privates, with a caption "we knew what Scott was hiding back then, now he's hiding his connections to big oil, to the tea party nonsense, siding against women , & of course lower taxes for the rich. Now, they could throw in "support for Romney, which he wants you to forget. Why hide it, Scott?"

That's all they've got on her. Elizabeth Warren makes a comment about Native American heritage and the right wing radicals don't give up on it because they have nothing else. Even the haters in this forum are still using racial slurs to describe her.

If she didn't make that comment about her heritage what snarky, misogynistic comments would the right wingers make to degrade her? Brown was extremely boorish during the debate.
