Ellen DeGeneres Walks Away From Crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ellen DeGeneres walked away from a three-vehicle collision caused by a suspected drunken driver, police said.

``She had a little neck and back pain, but it doesn't look like it was anything serious,'' said Sgt. Ken Buscarino of the Los Angeles police said after Friday's accident.

The collision occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard, Buscarino said. The talk-show host stopped her 2006 Porsche Carrera at a light, followed by a 2002 Buick Le Sabre with two men in their 20s.

A 2002 Porsche Carrera driven by a 52-year-old woman slammed into the back of the Buick and caused a chain reaction, police said.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and had minor cuts on her leg, police said. The two men in the Buick suffered scratches.

DeGeneres' passenger, a woman in her mid-30s, complained of minor back pain. DeGeneres' car sustained moderate damage.

No one required medical attention at the scene, Buscarino said.

Thank God she is OK.
If there is one thing I can't stand it is people in this day and age that still get behind the wheel of a car drunk.

I'm sure that by the time this gets into the tabloids, Ellen will have had a near-death experience or something like that. Also, if the "passenger" described as "a woman in her mid-30s" isn't Portia DeRossi, then some sort of "scandal" will be created over that as well.

I'm also glad she's okay. And who cares who the woman in her car was. I have a partner and I also have friends (both male and female) in my car with me at times. You're right, though, tabloids love to start a scandal especially when there's no basis.

Drunk drivers + cars do NOT mix......unfortunately, the younger you are, the more immortal you seem to think you are.....please JUBBERS, DO NOT get behind the wheel and drive after drinking...let someone else drive, call someone or call a cab/taxi to take you home and get your vehicle back later. Yes, Ellen's new season is suppose to begin on Monday/Tuesday....I wonder if this will cause Ellen to delay??? I guess she will use this accident in her act and probably come in with a big ole neck brace on her to make-fun of the incident to call off the paparazzi's.........right? I hope she does so they will NOT make money off her mis-fortune!

lol I wouldn't be surprised at all if she did that. But Monday to Wednesday's shows were pre-taped in New York, so there should be no delay.

Someone with a video camera recorded the events following the crash.
The girls although understandably shaken seem to have minor injuries, Ellen's car did not get too much damage but the poor dude who got rear ended by some woman had major damage to his car.
