  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

emo guys?

When Chav's shag - we crack open a bottle of Stella, spark up a ciggy and talk about the new range of Adidas sports wear...

When you shag an Emo, all you get is 'Oh no, what a personal disaster!'

Meh! Gimmie a burberry bearing scally any day.

Wouldnt know still all innocent ;)

Perhaps one day I'll find out :gogirl:

quite honestly, anyone who tries too hard to shoe-horn themselve into a "type" is in serious need of a couple belts to the mouth and a life.

The people who say "I wanna be a goth" and then spend weeks trying to shop for the right clothes to fit into the "subculture".

I know, I know.. I personally ride motorcycles and listen to metal, but I do those because it's just who and what I am.. it comes naturally.

I don't mean to keep on harping on our happily departed Tadzio What's His Face, but he was always making these divisive posts where he'd put himself up on a pedestal..

"I'm a pretty boy"

"I'm a socialite"

"I'm a next-Generation David Bowie" (I laughed so hard at that I almost coughed up a lung)

Truth be known, he was just some dweeb who was desperate for any attention at all and dressed like an idiot, acted like an idiot and pretty much was dismissed as an idiot... Because instead of just being himself, he had to be a part of some "movement".

If you like Emo-core.. cool. I have a Thursday album. (In fact, I have three of them)

If you like to wear your hair over your face or read Tennyson or write death poems on your blog or wear a lot of black.. cool.. just let it be you.

But don't do ANY of the above simply so you can "Be an Emo".

Becasue THAT, my most likely emaciated and pasty-white friend, is lame.

I have to agree with Soilwork (I couldn't put it that well though)..

I don't try to "fit in", or fit into a group or whatever..I'm happy being myself and I think others should just be content with being themselves as well (that sounds rather preachy but still, there's a point to be made here).

I don't care what other people think of me. I don't do stuff to fit in (the last time I did stuff just to fit in, I was 17 and I regretted it). I don't want other people to like me because I pretend to be them (I'm a bit old for that)...

I know who my true friends are and I've had them for years. I don't need to do anything to "fit in", just being myself is enough.

I suggest for anyone reading: Just be who you are. If people don't like you because you're you, that's their problem and nobody else's.

Friends will come and go and true friends will stay with you no matter what. It makes no logical sense to do things just to attract friends when those friends may not even be here a month, a year etc from now.

Very well written response, nicely thought through too. ^

you know they want a couple belts to the mouth so they can write a poem about it and put it on their blog.

You know, a friend of mine wrote some poems that I identified with, so I put them on my website then was labelled emo myself (though I clearly indicated that I didn't write them). :\

It's sad that people feel the need to put themselves and others into nice neat little groups.

I was at work and this guy came in that really made me go "Huh?" He had the emo hairin his face, but it was light brown. And he had a beard. And I got very confused because I usually associate emo with black hair (dye) and clean shaven. Just thought I'd throw in an emo-esque story.

I see what you mean. Photo <<<-- is me btw.(!)
The pic is awesome and you look good in it.

Skaterboi, I have to agree with you: emo boys = hot.
I'm surprised to realize that I don't actually know that many, but then its probably cause I can't stand the music for long periods of time.
I think the closest stuff to emo that I listen to (and actually love) would be like Panic! at the Disco and The Hushsound. But they're fairly upbeat :)

I have a Go Gos album...does that make me a hardcore Emo or Emu or Elmo or Homo or Lame-O? Don't catergorize me, Jasun!

Perhaps it's time for a new style: emo-chav.

I wonder what they would look like...

Probably cutting Burberry patterns with golden razor blades into each other's arms.
