End of the war? Rebel troops enter Tripoli, Gaddafi's regime collapsing

This was earlier on tonight as the rebels move into Tripoli with cheers and celebrations....

This is a civil war that had to be fought out between Libyans.

NATO has provided the anti Gaddafi forces with sufficient air and sea support to ensure that Gaddafi's military advantage was gradually whittled down to nothing.

I would dread to think that today's Iraq should be considered a victory for GWB.

Some victory. Some hell hole for the Iraqi people. And years after the Coalition invasion of Iraq that GWB hailed as a victory from the flight deck of a carrier.

Great news! But did anybody ever figure out "WHO" the Rebels were? I remember, when this all started to ramp up back in spring or late winter, a number of people were saying things like "We have no idea who or what forces are backing the rebels."

In other words it could have been the Taliban, for all that anybody seemed to know. I've heard nothing about this since.

If Obama had gone in immediately with full force, I bet anything that justapixel would have had the very same comment because, no matter what Obama does or doesn't do, it can never be the "right" thing. It's just like Republicans being unanimously against something that Obama agrees with, even if it's something that was originally proposed by the Republicans.

It is amazing how disconnected from reality you are since you have returned. Maybe I was just immune to it before for some reason. Have you ever been even remotely close to that region of earth?

So ten of thousands died so you Wanted Obama to invade with massive force? You realize that makes you one against every other American. The rest of us had ZERO desire to get involved on the ground. In fact going against their own party ethos the republicans denounced supporting freedom in Libya because POTUS Obama was the one doing it... no other reason... no morality and zero integrity in their stated beliefs.

So if that isnt what ya mean then what the fuck are you saying....

I am beginning to believe those folks who say this is simply trolling but would be willing to hear a rational explanation.

Regrettably history is not on their side for finding competent leadership and establishing equitable governments. The Bush Administration did all the work (true leadership). All Obama did was "tie up the loose ends" while gallivanting on Martha's Vineyard. Thank God for Republicans!

A new era dawns in Libya with our focus now shifting to a post war scenario and how Libya will be governed, and by whom?

The fate of Gadaffi is also a consideration. I hope that the Libyan people will deal with him in a court room. Justice should be seen to be done in accordance with international standards that reflect humanitarian considerations for all Libyans including those guilty of inhumane conduct.
