Energy Committee Chairman Candidate Says God Promised no More Catastrophic Climate Ch

Seems as reasonable as the phony science the other side is selling.

I can't believe the guy has the guts to govern by the Bible. 'Freedom of Speech' aside, how can the Bible possibly represent all the people?

Religion should be banned from the government.

Uh huh.

99% of all scientists who aren't on Oil Company Payrolls agree that we're in a make-it-or-break it period... OR it's too late and we're doomed.

You go right ahead and pretend that climate change facts with scientific evidence to back it up is the same as telling the story of Noah from the Bible.

On the other hand... it's pretty clear that human kind doesn't really deserve to survive the century anyway.

I thought their Old Testament god promised only that humanity wont be wiped out by a flood ever again?

This is kind of leadership we will have in Congress for the next two years. Lets us prey.

This dumbfuckery is not uncommon with many Republicans, and as sad as it is, we will continue to see the trend increase with the new Congress.

Me thinks Shimkus might have some new BFF's, Koch Industries to be exact, aka the Tea Party.

It baffles me that there are actually people out there stupid enough to believe that 7 billion people chugging pollution into the air and water doesn't effect the climate.

People who don't understand the difference between "climate" and "weather."

People who don't feel that we need to protect the oceans or wildlife or the air.

(but these are mostly people who think that the Rapture is coming so they don't need to save the world for the evil people Left Behind.)

I've heard this before, but do people really believe that? That Jesus will come down from Heaven and all the believers will raise up to meet him and those who aren't born again Christians will stay on earth? I thought shit like that died out in the Middle Ages.

ON TOPIC:

Climate change is a FACT. I'm going to believe the scientific experts, not those with a political agenda or those with profits to be made denying it.

Bashing Christianity, Christians & their beliefs doesnt make you or anyone else look any better than People Bashing the Gay Community...

Think about it...

The great thing about the UK is that if any of our politicians started to refer to the Bible or speak on behalf of God in such a way, they certainly wouldn't get a second term - and probably wouldn't make it through the first!

Unfortunately for America, it's these kind of nutjobs that get all the coverage while genuine hard-working people and politicians get zilch - which of course is why many people outside of America think it's a country full of weirdos. Which is a shame cos I've never met anyone I'd call 'weird' whenever I've been there...

Anyone who thinks that Jesus is coming to take him to heaven and therefore he can drive an SUV and piss in the well deserves to get bashed for their rank stupidity.

think about it.

No, it's different.

Bashing someone for what they think is one thing.

Bashing someone for who they are is an entirely different matter.

And I wasn't bashing them for thinking that, I was wondering why they still think like that. If they think I'm going to Hell because I'm gay, then they're wrong.

But this is getting off topic.

What a person "thinks" is a part of the "make-up'" as to who they are......

You're missing it. He was asking a question. He wasn't stating an opinion:

You're making it sound as though he believes that as well.
