"England vs. North America: Any big difference?"

Yes - one's a continent and the other is a country. (Yes, I took my smart-ass pills this morning! :P)

um yeah, it's a huge difference. Only the language barrier is significantly smaller than in other countries.

Yes, there's a big difference. American foods are fatening. English foods taste terrible. You want good foods in England? Eat curry!

Yes, in England we think that 100 miles is a long way whilst in the US you think that 100 years is a long time.

If you want to tour ancient ruins in England, you go to Stonehenge or castles. If you want to tour ruins in America, you go to the ghettos!

Of course England and North America are very different! Other posters have said it far more wittily though.

When I asked this question, I meant is it different enough that it's worth vacationing in. I once vacationed in Montreal, no big difference, I ended up being bored the whole time.

That all depends on what you're interested in. My city dates back 2,000 years and has a lot to offer if you're interested in historical things. It certainly attracts a lot of American visitors. I've posted this link on JustUsBoys before, but it'll give you a flavour.

There's also this view from a fellow American:

Interested?

England is amazing.

You'll love it. If you don't you must be in a coma.

Again, it depends on your interests. The history is great and the most famous places live up to their reputation. England and London in particular have whatever you are looking for, if history is not your thing. I found the food much better than people claim. It tends to be basic rather than relying upon sauces etc. But ethnic food is readily available.
BUT, it really does rain as much as they claim. Take a good raincoat and do not make you plans based upon sunny days.
Transportation is easy, especially the subway and trains. You can take day trips out of London, by train or bus, to many of the other places, Windsor Castle, Canterbury, Portsmouth (a train goes to the harbor, with the Victory, Mary Rose).
Traveling by train or bus is a good way to see the countryside, and both are clean and comfortable.

Not sure if we can help you if Montreal was boring to you. Maybe you shouldn't do city trips ..

The poms have a bit of trouble with the language, but you will love it.
PS tell them you are Canadian

^ even I immediately look through this "disguise". Any brit probably just as you open your mouth  Stop doing that, you're not fooling anybody and it's kinda pathetic ..

Difference? England is so small compared to Nortth America, by rearranged land area it can fit inside Louisiana. :D

Personally I'd go to the three other countries or the crown dependencies 1st when I would eventually visit GB. Cause EVERYONE I know goes to London as their 1st trip to Europe

When I think of England this comes to mind.

Yeah but you didn't take enough smart ass pills. Both are Countries and neither are Continents.
United States of America is but one country on the Continent of North America.
