i want to hear some of your thoughts on english only. i think this law is a little ridiculous and divides and discriminates against groups. people who wanna learn english cant since their are no government programs on it

I prefer Anglo-Saxon, English is not strong enough for our frontier, get-things-done, Great Souther... Opps, my Aussie upbringing is taking over. :)

You can, logically, blame that on the French for the language we have now.
 
I think the English Only mentalilty is a disgrace. I hate the fact that so few people in the United States only speak one language when so many people in Europe speak three and four languages.
 
Since Canada is generally officially bi-lingual, any English only law seems absurd.

If English-only was the law, you'd probably be breaking the law with that post, what with missing punctuation, spelling mistakes and the total absence of capital letters. :-)

This maladroit sentence is actually one reason why everyone who plans on functioning successfully in an English speaking world should learn English.

And there are government programs for it. They are called schools. You might consider trying one stevexxx.
