I've always been intrigued by English sexuality. Italians may be more famous for it over the generations. But consider: In England they have Sus-sex, Es-sex, Wes-sex, Middle-sex. I've never heard about Nor-sex.

Can the English JUBbers please explain what this is about????

They had Mercia which was S&M country. Nowadays, the county of Norfolk is where you find all the turkeys for your roasts, thanks to Bernard Matthews.

Just in case you don't know, Bernard Matthews specially breed turkeys that are tubular and slice thinly.

Just for bboring information the word Wessex the last 3 letters derive from Sax as in Saxon and it was where the west Saxon tribe lived. Wessex

I believe Saxon meant 'Swordsmen' or 'people of the sword'; I don't think 'sex' in Sussex or Wessex has any etymological origins in 'shagging' - I believe they mean (en generale) 'chief place' or 'chosen place' n'shit.

However, 'Fuck' is an Anglo Saxon word.

And a wonderfully expressive word it is!

It is. :D. Of course, it just means 'sex' or did back then, but my point was if the etymology of Anglo Saxon kingdoms revolved around 'sex' then we would have 'Wesfuck, Essfuck Susfuck'.

But we don't.

Here endeth the history lesson.

Okay, who are you?
Where's Non, and what the FUCK have you done with him?

Slap yo'self fool!
Manna man will get muuuurked! :grrr:

But we ave got a county called Norfuck. Praps there's sumthin good about Norwich after all ;)

Hmm, Millsy's right on this one - I think Norfolk is either 'The Norse Folk' (coz they got pushed oop nort' by the Saxons) or simply 'Northern Folk' i.e. the people to the North.

I will now return to my crude, former self.

In Friesland, where they have a language that is supposedly closely related to English, there is a place called Sexbierum. (bier = beer in Dutch)

I think you have just revealed the true root home-land of my English ancestors.
Sex-Beer. With a little marketing you could turn it into a place of pilgrimage, I'm sure.

Etymology of Norfolk
(Territory of the) Northern People (of the East Angles)
