Wow. Violence, PUBLIC nudity? Wonder what Donny Osmond and India.arie have to say about this video? lol
I love Erykah!

I got the video's message but I was fixated more on her ass. Damn when did she get thick like that. :p

But anyway- back to the real point at hand which is Erykah; I watched the "Window Seat" clip a dozen more times and I’m starting to love it more and more now that I really grasp what it was she was trying to convey through it. I think I was too caught up in my love for the song, I wanted the accompanying video to be just as lovely. Nope, Erykah wasn't about to make things that easy for me. Initially what I saw was raw footage of Erykah walking through a crowd people, removing her clothes piece by piece and at the end she’s shot dead. And naturally I tried to connect all of this with the overall theme to "Window Seat" itself. But the video is much bigger than that one song. It reflects the entire theme of the Return of the Ankh album with her exposing her most innermost thoughts and feelings to the world, running the risk of us hating her for them but at the same time enabling her to grow and evolve as a woman.

I dunno, I feel you can analyze this video to death with all the subtle touches Erykah placed into it. Which is genius considering how at first glance it is just a video of a woman running down the street butt naked. But when you do look at it closely, one does picks up the JFK association, the themes of reincarnation, the public’s disdain for free-thought and individuality. So for all of that, right now I do love it. :) Still doesn’t come close to my "Honey" video, but it’s definitely second best. ..|

And I didn’t realize all of that was real. #-o I was one of the chuckleheads who thought all of those people in the background were hired actors paid to stand around. !oops! The respect and admiration points I had for Erykah shot through the roof upon finding that out. I give her much props for not only having the balls to take off your clothes in mid-afternoon public but for also findng a way to not get chucked in jail for doing so. It’s no wonder at all why this chick is my undisputed muse. :D

^Hmm, I must say this was a very brief and concise post by me. Expect another one when Return of the Ankh officially drops and I check back to give my two cents about that.

Also happy to see respect was given to Matt & Kim.

If you are in Los Angeles tonight, come celebrate the new release at the Official Album Release Party at the El Rey Theatre, hosted by Erykah Badu with J.Rocc, Kutmah, (DJ) Nobody (Low End Theory) and a surprise performance by...

"Badu delivers an album that offers the emotional highs, lows and maddening complexities of being involved in a romantic relationship." -- Vibe.com

Erykah Badu's highly anticipated fifth studio album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh has arrived. It is the multi-platinum selling, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/actress' follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2008 disc, New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War.

In contrast to the previous album, which was digitally produced and political in tone, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh features lush live instrumentation and taps into Badu's emotional side by thematically focusing on romance and relationships. Contributions come from some of the most talented, groundbreaking, underground producers and engineers in the hip hop game, including Grammy winners 9th Wonder and James Poyser, eclectic soul singer Bilal, and the late J Dilla.

Also, view photos from Erykah's show at Good Units at Hudson in NYC on March 27th.

After listening to the whole CD, its amazing. "Out My Mind, Just in Time" is the truth. It reminds me so much of "Green Eyes", another favorite of mine.

Why is 106 and Park still on TV. They didn't even know what to ask Erykah, they seem so lost. Wow that Erykah is releasing at least 7 more videos.

Erykah Badu charged over Dallas nude video shoot.

"After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct. She disrobed in a public place without regard to individuals and small children who were close by."

I just skimmed India.Aries twitter, and i see she had nothing to say about this video. But then again Erykah isn't as popular and successful on the charts as Lady G is. That's what it's all about anyway. Jealousy. Envy.

Those who defend Erykah's video and call it genius, when the director (or whoever) just copied Matt & Kim’s “Lessons Learned” video (down to the death scene at the end), then bash Lady G for nudity and violence in her Telephone video, and Beyonce for her Fossi inspired Single Ladies video, are hypocrites. It's jealously and resentment that they sell more and are more popular than Erykah or whoever they're a fan of, that's not selling as well, or has as many #1's on the Hot 100, plain and simple.

I love Erykah. 'On and On' is one of favorite tracks and videos ever. It's ridiculous that artists like Ke$ha and Rihanna have #1's and sell millions, yet talented, thoughtful, TALENTED artists like Erykah do not. However, i don't have a different set of standards for each of them just because of that.
Erykah and her people were irresponsible for doing that in public, in front of kids, just as Matt and Kim were. Just as Lady G and her people were for posting her Telephone video without some disclaimer.

Anywho, my friends bday party is tonight, and i'll be dancing to Ke$ha and Rihanna like everyone else. Ain't no thang! LOL

Someone snitched on her

A Dallas Police spokeswoman said earlier in the week that they wanted to press charges against Badu because children were present, but no one had called police or filed a complaint that day.

Police now have their witness.

"One witness did come forward yesterday, thus leading to the charges filed today," a statement from Dallas Police said Friday.

A citation of misdemeanor disorderly conduct has been mailed to Badu, who is a Dallas resident, police said.

She's being fined only $500. That chump-change (for her) is well worth all of the publicity she's getting.

Really, Erykah is quite revered in these parts.

I think she knew this would happen. She probably had the fine money set aside before the shoot. The video got people talking so mission accomplished.

I like the majority of her music. As for this "controversy," it was tacky and she deserved the fine, but also people need to realize why she did it before getting their testes in a twist. I wouldn't have done it, but then again, she's the artist :)
