An escort should know the area, be familiar with all ranges of restaurants, know where the theaters and other forms of entertainment are, be able to provide appropriate companionship in a wide variety of venues, know the numbers for taxi and other services, be able to drive to places in the area like a pizza delivery person, know the best ways to medical care from any point in town, be good at conversation and listening, and more.

I've met male escorts who could not only do that but had marital arts and counseling training, certificates in massage, and other things.

A real escort is someone who you can call on when you've just gotten into a town you've never been to before, say, I want a good time, this is what I like (movie, opera, whatever), set it up and take me there, or if you feel like sitting in your room knows all the places to call for delivery food, or if you need to sound off can listen affirmingly for hour after hour.
