Generally we think of ethnic as latino, black, asian etc but my question is do the people of those races think of white people as ethnic?? just wondering? thought thats quite funny!

people are strange ... it seems that there's always a faction who WANT to see people as racially different, rather than recognizing their similarities. Check the Hutu and Tutsi in Rwanda. Its sad.

EVERYBODY belongs to an ethnic group.

"ethnic" wasn't a term invented to identify "those other guys who aren't normal like me".#-o

While "ethnic" is a word used like we all have seen it used, it really just refers to the attention given to guys that you associate with a certain culture or background.
If I say "I've got some pics of some Irish guys," you prolly expect some stocky, red-haired, pale-skinned, freckled guy who looks like he might have tried boxing.
Or maybe he won't "look" Irish but there's still something Irish about him.

But of course, a lot of "producers" use the word in an obviously vulgar way because they think that that's what people want.

I have always thought of white-blond haired Scandavians as "ethnic". Also, redheads to some degree.

This reminds me. A friend of mine wanted to start a mag called "Tone". Every issue would feature hot men from every ethnicity. The full spectrum, appealing to all tastes.

----- Soooo.....with this in mind, why is the term "ethnic" only used to categorize those who aren't European, white...or more specifically Western European????......Fact is..the term "ethnic" is a european created concept, created originally to differentiate themselves from those who didn't look like them, or speak like them, or live like them....-----

Why?? Marketing.
Some "publishers" want to get the most out of their investment, that is, their photograph of model-xx. They know that there's markets for ethnicities and so they will sell it to whoever might be interested, regardless of the actual ethnicity of the model.

It tends to be Euro-centric. But non-European publishers also do it purely because they think they're maximizing return by doing so.

Low-brow marketing to low-brow consumers.

I've noticed that German web-sites that feature "Arabs" will mix in Latinos and vice-versa. He's got brown skin so we'll use the label 'Arab.' And so on.
They assume the consumers won't care about the difference.

It can change over time if people complained and/or stopped going to offensive sites.
