I agree, I thought that Iceland and Sweden would do a lot better, at least top 10 - especially the Icelandic song, not just 'cause it's my country, I just thought it was one of the catchiest one and one of the best performances.

. That guy is just so horribly annoying and a terrible winner. When their song won the pre-contest here in Iceland, he made, for some unknown reason since he was the winner, a very bitter comment about another song that was in the pre-contest. It was this song (it's pretty good)
He said something that I guess I could translate as "A coin in an empty barrel, makes a lot of noise" and was very smug - you'll notice that there are several barrels on stage in the other song...
Anyways, what country did y'all root for, I loved the song from Bosnia, it was one of the best ones there and the performance was awesome

I was rooting for Switzerland and France, until I heard their songs. Then I decided that the Serbian and Russian songs and performances were the best. I am glad Russia won, it was well deserved.

I suppose you are saying therefore that Israel is an active member of the EBU. I didn't know that. I knew Morocco was, but that almost makes sense with its close proximity to Europe and its large European expat community. But Israel??? Seems a bit odd to me.

This pic is actually real! I was reading a news article about it, when a reporter asked him about it, and he said something like "That was a long time ago"...
