Apparently he (Alexander Rybak) was quite homophobic when asked by fans who 'looked gay' in a square in Moscow for a photograph. He refused to have a photo taken and his management questioned why the fans who were there for Eurovision even wanted a photo with him, telling them 'He's not gay, you know.' Guess this needs a source lol, I'll have a look around and try and find one.

If a relatively easygoing American can freak out when his career may be in danger because of homoassociations, imagine a Bielorussian guy (living in Norway, whatever: he has his core business in Slavic countries)...

Yeah cos competing in Eurovision portrays such a manly image Hehe kidding. Yeah I suppose that's true. What harm would taking a photo with some gay looking guys do though. None of the other Slavic or Baltic entrants seemed to have an issue.

He's cute and handles the violin quite adequately, he has a nice voice and he's very entertaining, his stage presence is strong, but he should leave the lyrics to the pros until he matures a bit. I don't know him well enough to know how much of a language barrier might be to him, but they could certainly use some work.

Well he won by about 170 points so you can't doubt it's worthiness for the title!

But its only any good in the context of the ESC. In the real world of contemporary music it's pretty cheesey & naff.

It's already a huge hit all over Europe(even in the UK its at #10). But I suspect it'll be his only hit.

He's kinda cute if you like that innocent daffy look.
