Sweden was destined to win, next year it's 40 years since ABBA scored with Waterloo so that's gonna be next year's theme

I've never watched Eurovision but love the tradition. It's fun, international, and not afraid to be corny, quirky, or campy.
The American talent competitions are too maudlin, too commercial, too vainglorious, and too fake. I can't stand them. The old variety shows and talent competitions were more honest before it became the only alternative TV programming to CSI.
And I love that Europe celebrates itself that way.

Yes. It's as if the music is the last thing it's about.
Well we beat Germany this year
That`s easy cuz we usualy come in last, german TV gives huge money to finance the show
so Germany doesn`t have to go thru the preliminary competition.
But how goes the old song: "can`t buy me love" .
I think we should pull out with the cash and go in the race like most of the others too.
As for the music, widely not what I go for - to much screaming at the top of the lungs -
the "winner" Sweden looks like a set game by the "juries"
in my opinion the jury-votes should be abolished just let the people vote,
I voted for Norway and they have won in peoples hearts.

On a point of pedantry, next year will be the 50th anniversary of Waterloo (and the 209th anniversary before anyone says anything).
