  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Ever been to a Disney theme park?

Disappointed. I expected to see a drawing of a bloody Mickey Mouse bludgeoning children.

Oh well.

Yes, Disneyworld. Once when I was about 10. I went with my friend and his family. On the way back the plane had some kind of difficulty so we had to land in Virginia and wait for another flight. My friend's mother was so freaked out she refused to get back on a plane. We had to stay overnight at a hotel until she calmed down. The next morning there was a fire somewhere in the hotel and we had to evacuate. My friend and I wandered off and found a pond where I caught a little painted turtle. I named him Racer because he was fast for a turtle. How I smuggled him home on the airplane I'll never know, but he lived for about a year after that.

It's against EC's rules to post pictures of minors, even if said pictures aren't sexual.

No. The expense is ridiculous.

Nearest thing I could find at short notice.

I live in Orlando and have been to Disney World more times than I can count and I have been to DisneyLand once. Disney world is bigger and I like it more.

Never. Ever. Ever.

I have nightmares about this.

It'll do.

I assume this Mickey has a deep, gravelly voice. Maybe now people will be able to understand what the fuck he's saying.

I went to DisneyLand Paris when i was about 10ish, rained all the fucking time, lived off McDonald's, crap Mulan show, good western cowboy show, and a huge pink hotel to stay in, wouldn't go again.

I went to Disney World and EPCOT Center in 1983. I still have (and wear) the EPCOT 83 red t-shirt.

I have no great desire to go back. I'd gladly go back to Florida - I was in Fort Myers last November. But theme parks? Off my menu.

Yes, I enjoyed it, but I was young enough not to mind the long lines. Today I would detest it.

Living in Florida, I've been to Disney World quite a few times. When I was a teenager, I went with high school and church youth groups. When I was with my ex, we never had any money, and all he ever wanted to do was go to Disney World when we had the chance. Though we did go for a Gay Days at Disney back in the 90s, and I got to hold his hand in public. That's when it hit me, that shouldn't we be able to do this all of the time?

I have no desire to go back now, especially dealing with crowds during Covid. There's a whole world out there I'd love to see when it's safe to travel again.

Went to Disney World SO very long ago that it was still pretty small, and quite new. This was late 1973. I'll GO to a Disney park, but it's not the prime draw for me.

I also went to Disneyland...THREE times...in 1972, I think 1992, and whatever year the JUB meet happened in Anaheim (2008-2010 era). Really, it's not terrible, but neither does it "stack up to" nearby Knott's Berry Farm...well, OK, at least in the same County. I do prefer Knott's, and I'll take Magic Mountain over either. Southern California is one of only placed in the world that I've been to three theme parks that are reasonably close to each other: the other is Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson NJ/Dorney Park in Allentown PA/Knoebel's up near Shamokin PA in Appalachia.

Knoebel's is probably my favorite of any park I've ever been to. It's so entirely Old School, and a very warm-and-fuzzy feeling to the place. It certainly doesn't hurt that they have the Twister and Phoenix roller coasters there, both of which are WONDERFUL rides!!!

Oh my God, Peloso, that is just CRAZY-WILD about that strange trip years ago: plane trouble AND a hotel evacuation? Really, that's nuts! And you even got a turtle out of the deal.

Hey, if not Mickey killing children, will exploding kittens do?

Oh hell no, not off my menu at all. Still loving roller coasters and going on 74 years old!!

Yes my friends in LA thought it would be funny--but the joke was on me.

Yes, I went to Disneyland in 1969 when I was passing through California. I went to Disney World later, perhaps about 1980 something when I was in Florida. I enjoyed them both, but was by myself. I am too old to ride most rides now and wouldn't enjoy them anymore. Also going by myself isn't much fun.

I have been planning my WDW vacation for the better part of 20 years! The problem is every single time we get a modicum of savings together some bullshit unexpected expense comes up $4000 car repair, blown water heater with flooding, severely leaking shower, hole in the back of our house due to heavy squirrel activity in our neighborhood, lil fuckers had a nest going! I used to get mad seeing the commercials plan your vacation now plan now! Now I just feel numb every time they come on. I have started to accept that I am just not good enough, my family is just not good enough to enjoy a vacation like this! Wouldn't you know certain activities of a family member and cv19 caused us to tap in to the fund YET AGAIN! Happiness and all that glitters is just not for me! Sadly I will never see the place where dreams come true!
