Ever been to a JUB meet-up?

I went to an ATL JUB Meet and the one in St Louis. I can't wait to get to San Antonio next year!

We had a few mini JUB threesomes here :) And then I have met a few Jubbers individually, one just yesterday :) The biggest "meet" however was when I met the JUB "gang" (the owners + partners and friends) in Amsterdam recently

1. we did
- drinking in town during bright daylight (after carefully explaining the american canadian several times that this totally legal and we will not get arrested)
- renting a flat for a weekend in berlin. doing touristy stuff and partying
- hit the gay bars in cologne
- party til 6 am

2.
um .. well all meetings have been very positive it was well like meeting friends. some do have become really good friends. never hooked up ;)

3. i am "meeting people from the internet" almost 10 years now .. whether those are gamers or programmers from freetime projects, dates from dating website etc pp ... you get a feeling for it if someone is a "real" person. so most (most!) people are not too different from their online persona, i can't remember anybody of whom i thought he is interesting enough to meet and who was totally different when we met. but people still often will surprise you - and that's a good thing because there are so many sides and facets of a person that you will never get to know from a forum ;)

Did you guys at the JUB meets noticed anyone not chatty or just awkward to talk to ?
(don't name names, just describe the mood)

Haha.

Hmm. I'd say shy, distanced, looking away from everyone's eyes and everyone's directions, trying to isolate themselves, and the look in their eyes that they want to be somewhere else or don't feel in place.

Probably something like that.

And yes quiet as well.

 that would be an awkward look.
If any actors can produce that look, it would be an award winning performance.

Oh I'm sure tons of actors can produce that look and then some :D

Although...that raises an interesting question.

I've never been to a JUB meet. I don't think there's been one in Australia, however I'm thinking of flying to the USA for the October JUB meet in Vegas.

What? When? I'll have to look!

I haven't been checking the JUB meets forum regularly...

I've been to two major JUB meets, and I've certainly been more than favorably impressed by the good times had by meeting and hanging out with interesting people from here. Certainly impressed enough to continue making REAL plans to attend future meets!

I've never hooked up with anyone from JUB, but that's certainly not any kind of requirement either.

^ Thanks R., I just DID - and what I saw there has greatly increased my probability of going. I certainly cannot possibly even BEGIN complaining about the scheduling! It couldn't be much better.

And it will be cool meeting you, among others, should I manage to go. I have a couple of dear friends in LV as well, so it's pretty inevitable that I end up there when I'm in the far Southwest.

i've co-hosted a couple of meets with centexfarmer the biggest being the san antonio meet a couple of years back. we set it up in a hotel here that offered a happy hour which we used as a mixer. thereafter we went to dinner at a restaurant on the riverwalk and then hit one of our best gay bars. all in all it was a social event.

i attended the st. louis meet which was much bigger than the one in s.a. and rather different. both good and bad as i recall. the good thing was there were many new faces to meet.

my impressions of jubbers has been pretty positive for the most part. if anything the members i met in s.a. have proved to be enduring friends.

The First ever JUB Meet at The Motherlode in West Hollywood,CA

Went to one in Dallas. Very nice people.

And that was the first JUB Meet that I ever organized. :D

There hasn't really been a JUB meet like that one since.

I haven't been to a JUB meet since then that I haven't had some input in, in terms of organizing.

Since that initial Dallas JUB meet, I've helped organize and have attended three in Austin, two in San Antonio, at least two more in Dallas, and one in St. Louis.

Every JUB meet is a little different.

Even if they've been held in the same city.

For my part, the best JUB meets have been those where everyone shows up just to meet each other.

Everyone is a little nervous, and not to sure about what to expect, but by the time the weekend is over, we all wish that there was more time to spend with each other.

I've developed some friendships with some of the most unlikely people at the various JUB Meets that I've attended, and would recommend the experience to anyone who's never been to one. (*8*)
