While people argue over petty Bullshit about who said this or that or who's not passing this or who's passing that.. Who's raising taxes, who's lowering them, why are they doing this garbage and why can't I afford this... yeah time to grow up now.

As I'm getting older I realize that each party is corrupt. Constantly we see arguing back and forth on here on who's right, and who's wrong. But when it all comes down to it, ANY politician that is PAID MONEY in return to serve, is corrupt. For the politician has power the majority hasn't, and the political state has absolute power. Absolute power from the political state in our Capitalist structure always leads to corruption. Absolute power corrupts, but people in the current American state do not see it as an absolute power, but a necessary power that they blindly believe are their voice in representation. Alas, The politicians are not the voice of the people for they are getting PERSONAL PROFIT, The motivation is not to service the people for it is the profit itself; For if the goal of holding office was human benefit and increasing the standard of living, under-table agreements would not outnumber necessary goals for the public. People do not vote on issues, those they "voted for" (Lets pretend the system isn't rigged :P) decide FOR them. This leads to society having a mentality in which society can not manage itself.

Perhaps a communal form of organized economy would replace government as we know? Perhaps if those who preside in certain positions in "office" were chosen at random from the public. Certain changes to procedures in society or requests (which would replace the legal system) would be voted on directly from the public, and brought to the table for vote by those in office for the short time such as 1-3month(s).

^I hate my country, I wanna go to Europe so bad. Americans are the most clueless and stupidest people in the world. Narcissistic too they think they are better then everyone else. Notice I don't say WE I am not calling myself an American, its an embarrassment looking at buffoons walking outta wal-mart. All their clothes are large and extra large cuz we are the fattest country in the world. I don't get why people still think this is the land of the free... WHAT land is FREE?!

^… wal-mart. All their clothes are large and extra large cuz we are the fattest country in the world....

I bet those people who arrived on the Mayflower would be equally revolted by those Wal-mart fatties.

As I'm getting older I realize that each party is corrupt. .

It's not the parties that are corrupt, its the financial processes in which they're elected.

Before there's even an election presented before the electorate to vote on, monied interests have already stepped forward waging their bets on who can either win, or who can influence the "debate" in the direction of what "THEY" want to talk about.

If you find yourself as an "elected representative" somewhere out here in the American "hinterland," and you want a "seat" beyond city council/school board, county commissioner, state representative, or state senate, then you follow the money.

And depending upon how much you're willing to sell out your family, neighbors, friends, and political party platforms, YOU get to decide who finances your campaigns, and which ideology that you're willing to "sell out for."

Don't worry. [-X

The same individuals who've financed your rise in "public office," have already paid for a large group of political consultants, pollsters, and leaders of YOUR grassroots effort to get you elected.

That way you no longer have to do the work of getting YOUR message out, because they've already crafted it for you, and sold that message to a large group of volunteers who are willing to work for free to get that "message" out!

Regardless of PARTY!

Because you want to get elected and MAKE A DIFFERENCE! ..|

That way you can get elected enough times to the UNITED STATES HOUSE OF "REPRESENTATIVES" (Senate or Congress), to qualify for a pension that you only worked 2 to 4 years to get, and healthcare for LIFE!.

REGARDLESS OF PARTY!

:luv:

I'm sorry, but that doesn't sound the least bit corrupt to this single individual American, it sounds more like the LOTTERY!

(!)

So it's not the "party" that corrupts, its the process that keeps them there in my 20+ years of experience in that process.

:spank:

Do you want to continue to suck dick and be fucked in the ass by the "less government" X-tian Tea Party / Republicans, or to have your balls licked by the Democrats whenever they need some campaign financing to pay for keeping you and every one else from being raped?

Keeping in mind that YOU and the REST OF US, can only be RAPED if we're willing. ..|

OMG!

There are so many thoughts running through my head right now you're giving me a FUCKING HEADACHE!

I don't think anything is going to change in politics anytime soon. There won't be a 3rd party big enough to get elected because eventually they will turn into a party that is for its own agenda. I think the first thing that needs to be done is limit the term limits of congressmen and senators. I think 2 terms is enough, you should not be able to spend over half of your life in a gov job, there should be a rotation of new and fresh ideas. If you are re-elected, at best you should have to sit out a term before you run again.

So when you've made enough money to get out of your situation, the first thing that you should buy is an American Passport, and get the fuck out of American and to figure that shit out! ..|

I expect you to report back and to let the rest of us know and to where we should all consider moving.

And as a "capitalist" I hope the hell that you have your "real estate license" so that when we pack up our shit to follow you, that you won't have squandered your luck on something that was on Clearance at WALMART!

Lead, Follow, or GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY! :gogirl:

In the affairs of man none is without fault; including me.

There are those who believe that they are more equal, than others as a result of assuming that their ways are superior to the ways of others.

So simple-minded are men and so controlled by immediate necessities, that a prince who deceives always finds men who let themselves be deceived
. - Niccoló Machiavelli, The Prince. 1537.

Let us not deceive our self into believing that we possess the solitary remedy that will rid the world of the self seeking human person. For such a thought is deception imposed upon our self.

Actually a Tea Party GOP'r, Rep. Jon Walsh of IL, introduced a term limit bill yesterday to congress. I think he suggested two terms for the senate and 3 terms for congress. Of course H.J. Res. 71 gets shut down over and over which isn't surprising but who knows at this point. Of course all the perks with the job that come after it, it would just make it a further burden unless those are amended.

As for party corruption thing. Government has always been corrupted or does the phrase "Et tu Brute?" mean nothing to you. It basically comes down to choosing the "lesser of two evils" which I tend to side with the democrats.

KrisHawk, one of my country's greatest Prime Ministers had this to say about the States:
Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt.

Canadians have a hell of a view from up here, and what we see isn't always pretty. People of Wal-Mart are just one example. But I think you overstate your case if you think the States is worth hating. Leave it if you like, but don't think you have to flee it, and don't assume Europe is all roses and lollypops. They have some incredibly stupid laws, economics, cultural practices over there too.

At the very least go into it with your eyes open and be prepared to be let down by the fact that Europe is not 100% perfect, nor is Canada, nor is the States, etc..

If I may suggest, you're never going to find unanimous happiness and joy in any group of 300 million people. Stop worrying about The United States™ and look for the country within the country; surely there must be a few million of your fellow citizens who you do agree with on most things, and with whom you can support a common cause.

If they actual people it would affect has to vote on it, of course they will oppose it. It seems to me it would have to be an "issue" for the country to vote on. Also, even as much as each sides get ticked with its leaders, most are not likely to switch sides. The tea party can talk and threaten the GOP but at voting time, there is no way in hell they are voting for Obama and I would say the bulk of the Dems who may disagree with Obama, know that in the end, they will get less achieved on their behalf if they vote Republican, especially women who are able to still produce children.

There's the door! Enjoy Europe, we'll be fine without you!

We're all corrupt I think. I think if I ever held public office, I'd be corrupted. It's just human nature. I hate to say it. Just that some are more corrupt than others. The republicans don't care for the economy, the people... they want an economic crash. They rely on idiots to vote them in. They only care for their political careers... but beyond that they have no answers. No right winger in this country has any answer on how to help push the economy.

Republicans are controlled and driven by corporations, democrats are too but less so. I guess you just need to pick the lesser of the two evils.

Neither party is leftist.

Democrats are driven more by special interests than corporations. (think Unions and other organizations like them)

For your bolded part, you can also say the exact same about democrats. There is not a single member of either major party that hasn't been corrupted.

Kris, there are plenty of overseas missionaries who would love you to help them

This is called politically driven rhetoric... rather then logic or reason.

Unions are weak in this country. Very weak. You think one is better than the other, but you're totally wrong. But hey can't expect any less from an apologist. :D

And not only that you completely ignore what I said. This is irritates me to no end. I've already said both parties are corrupt. One just happens to be more corrupt then the other. Stop trying to be a republican apologist. The republicans are the worst option out of the two.

Apologist? Honey, you don't want to get me start ranting on how pathetic the Republican party is. You would be entertained at how much I pure straight hate them.

This lesser of two evils shit is the reason our nation is in the sorry state that it is. I prefer not to empower the criminals on either side, thank you very much.

P.S. Unions aren't weak. Unless you've seen what they can do first-hand, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Do you even read what I post or do you just post based on emotion rather then reason?

Read what I posted please. I said both parties are corrupt. One less corrupt then the other.

I'll take Obama. And you can keep whoever you want. What is it this time? Ron Paul?

I read what you posted. I would recommend that you start reading what I post instead of reading selectively. I'm voting for Obama, btw. I didn't vote for president in 2008.
