You oh us for keeping the world safe. I'm an American and make no mistake, if we say Wales is in England then you had better get used to growing your shamrocks at Buckingham Palace because without us you would all have been speaking German by now. Or worse, Dutch.

I know I shouldn't read threads like these when pissed (albeit slightly), but I couldn't resist. And now I have to ask: what the fuck are you on about? Is it sarcasm? I"m inclined to say it is, but I'm not sure.

And why would everyone be speaking Dutch if it weren't for you?

Uhmmmm.... No. No problem with the German Language. There is a great friendship between us Americans and Germanians (now anyway) because it gives the Germanians a good place to sell their everyday cars as luxury vehicles with a 50% markup.

And in exchange for the luxury cars we Americans visit tourist towns and make sure the locals learn a thing or two about good American customer service so that when the Germanians get there they can have a good time. The customer is always right.

O.K. THIS thread has got to be one of the "wierdest" I've read in a long time! So many twists and turns! Serious, to Sublime, to Rediculous! And I've been enjoying it immensly! Slobone ... What hast thou wrought??

A lot of the time, while reading this, I've been snorting Brandy and Water out through my nose! And, no!, most Americans don't do that on a regular basis!! In fact, outside of Wisconsin, most Americans don't even drink Brandy! And, despite the stereotypes, Wisconsonites drink more Brandy than Beer!! Even more than any other State in The Union!!

So ... what's my point? Do I need one??

I concur wholeheartedly! Dutch is one of the ugliest languages I know.

I was just kidding, actually. When I was a teenager I wanted to learn Dutch and applied for a language course in Katwijk aan Zee. They took too long to get back to me so I ended up doing something else that summer, but I would have loved to have gone.

By an amazing coincidence, I started loving the sound of Czech right around the time I started watching boatloads of Czech porn. Go figure.

Okay, I think at least Ruby's caught me out, but if the cat is not already out of the bag today's opinions are brought to you by the letter S.

"S" as in "satire" (which is like sarcasm, but funny. (We're all laughing now right))

I am just stirring the pot from up here in Canada. I find it a little bit enlightening - but also disturbing - that my remarks could have seemed so plausibly authentic.

Still though, I really was hoping for a transborder food fight. It would have been a blast.

Sad thing is ffwd there are those who really do have an astonishing lack of knowledge of the world outside the US. A certain President comes to mind, I can almost hear him saying Germaniansh. The food fight was a nice idea but you were being too plausibly dumb. Nice one, got us all going.
