Everyone With "Infractions" Under Their Name Post Here!!!!!

I went off on a sarcastic sort twice in one thread....in Fun and Games,no less....though a friend of his at the time was moderating and may have been the one who tagged me.I actualy wasn't cruel or vicious, though very sarcastic. Not worth doing again,I hate to cause trouble but the said sarcastic sort has a snobbish contempt for Fun and Games posters....I had enough of his nasty and personally demeaning comment about my friends,so I uncharacteristically unloaded.I am currently 1/0 in infractions and don't feel proud of it,but when someone is such an SOB, one needs to be called on the carpet for it .

Oh come on - what are you guys afraid of? A vitual slap on the wrist? A finger wagging, disapproving smilie?

Fight the power! So what if you get the occaision suspension? Its not like you wouldn't have something better to do with your time. :)

how do i get an infraction? whats 2 many infractions?

If we told you how to get them than everyone would start getting them... that would kind of cheapen the bad boy aura we've worked so hard to create and maintain.

Oh and there is no such thing a 2 much of anything. :)

I got 1 once basically because I pulled a "Roseanne Roseannadanna" and asked if someone was trying to make me sick or something with a video he posted. No regrets--there is one moderator (who will remain unnamed) who is a bit of a forum Nazi.

Of course really old infractions just sort of disappear I think. Cynicus I can't see what you got an infraction for, who it was from, or anything. Truthfully, one little infraction on this board isn't life altering. It's pretty hard to get to ten points. I sincerely think we mods try to be judicious with infractions.

I haven't gotten any yet. ;) ;)

Obviously there are a few buttons I've yet to push...

One infraction which was later reversed.
I'm not going to go into details, the matter has been long since resolved.

I wouldn't particularly call it something to be proud of though.
In fact I'd rather see it disappear.

I'm actually proud of my one infraction, too. Not the second one that just got revoked, though :o

I guess I'm just not posting enough, as I have no business in this thread......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................yet

anyway, mods, what happens to posts that cause an infraction to be issued? do the posts remain, get edited, deleted, or are such things handled on a case-by-case basis? just curious. There have been a LOT of changes since I was a more active poster. I still miss the caterpillars...

! You cheeky bitch! But okay! :D

Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss.. (2 of those are for Robert, by the way) Cos he just spoiled me again !oops!

Anways, back to topic before some fassy gets in a hissy fit..
No, no bad-point under this badman name :D

Some infractions are for posting personal details, spam etc and these tend to just have the offending details edited out.

If we're talking about personal attacks, baiting, profanity etc then most of the time the post gets deleted to prevent other members wading in on the arguement and causing further problems. Also if subsequent posts then quote or refer to the offending post, then those posts also may get deleted or edited.

Sometimes the post has caused such a train wreck that we have to rush the entire thread to the Emergency Room at Mod Towers and work on it to remove the debris and clean it up as best we can. When we're satisfied that its okay, we'll discharge it and let it go back to the forum. Occasionally, no matter what we do we just can't save it or it remains unstable and so..... well it never returns to the forum.

indeed there is

an absolute controll freak

one of the most detrimental influences on JUB out of all the many thousands of us

I just hope this person realizes it one day

I have one inactive infraction, for crossing the line between writing angrily and personally attacking a fellow member, causing much chagrin and embarrassment; it's just sitting there under my user info, mocking me.

Actually, while I was initially dismayed to learn that the infraction line would always be there, forever and ever, I decided recently that it's a good idea: it reminds me to be civil when I start wanting to really bash someone. I really don't want another one, so it reminds me to reel in the vitriol when I get too angry.
