Mildly off-topic, but you may want to know this if you're going to interact with this guy: most guys who used to be Marines prefer not to be called "ex-Marines."

This is because that phrase is too strongly associated with guys who lose it and start shooting people off the roof of the ShopMart.

The ones I've talked to prefer the phrase 'former Marine'.
