Why his campaign team would think that it could be out there and not used by one of the other contenders is beyond me.

Of Course, it just brings Gingrich's slimy sexual past back into the fore, so we know he didn't do it.

My bet is on Perry as payback for the outrage from Cain over the niggerhead incident.

One can be certain that, if there were settlements in these cases, then those settlements included confidentiality and non-disparagement clauses which forbid any of the parties from disclosing information about the cases or terms of the settlements. Whether Cain did something wrong or not, he probably cannot discuss the cases without breaching those agreements.

It isn't about the exact colour or smell or texture of the shit that spatters everywhere.

It is about everyone knowing that there may be shit somewhere.

The damage is done by inference, not by release of the detail.

This will dog Cain for the rest of his quasi campaign and effectively makes him poison as a contender.

It was funny that the journalistic or rather quasi journalistic organization who broke this story became upset when Cain didnt reveal any juicy details in his rebuttal.

So now the news guys just have to mention they heard something that maybe happened sometime and it is incumbent upon the accused to defend themselves AND provide the story. Ridiculous.

We have lost so much when they just do it blatantly like this.

Jack, I reread the Politico articles while watching the football game. The really don't give any backup for their charges -- like you said -- no names, no specific charges, no time frame.

I know that Cain has been conducted a very unorthodox campaign. I know that most right and left wing pundunts do not care for him.

Maybe it's time for something different than the regular presidential campaigns -- we do live in a different world today -- instant communication.

Cain is the only candidate that has run campaign ads where I live -- he's been on regularly for the last couple of weeks. Maybe his campaign is more organized than we are lead to believe.

Time for Politico to tell us facts -- not innuendos.

If they can't, a huge apology is due Herman Cain and a HUGE lawsuit is due Politico.
 
Cain has changed his story four times in the course of six hours.

He went from saying that there was NO accusations and it was all false.

Then he said there WERE accusations but he recused himself and never knew of the outcome.

Then he said that he was aware of the fact that there was a settlement, or an agreement, ( a clintonesque parsing if ever there was one).

THen he said on fox by the end of the night with greta van sustern that he remembered the whole thing, down to the exact gesture that he used that the woman took offense at.

Now the man is a Liar, of the clinton variety, and he is unfit for office. That's just the truth.

The mantras from the GOP and the conservatives about how they didn't hunt clinton for his blowjob, but that the hunted him for lying....

Justify your inconsistencies that you've posted in this thread. If Clinton was about the lie and the cover up, then where are we with Mr Cain?

He is in violation of campaign finance law at this point and he's going to implode on that alone.

I believe he said something that was grossly offensive without even realizing it, and didn't mean to "lure" a woman with his charm. I don't think that he's an adulterer. I think he is a chronic liar, though.

So who can say?

THe payoffs are real, and he admits to what he denied having ANY knowledge of in a six hour time span.

It is unwise and exceptionally UN conservative to accept this behavior on his part.

I'm hesitate to accept non-specified charges.

It's time for Politico to start talking.

I'm not sure that Cain has done the right thing is his presentation yesterday -- however, he was all over the place giving interviews -- he did not lock himself up in some hotel room.

I'm sure the people who got the supposed settlements will show up on the news once they decide which MSM's cash offer to take.

One thing I do know is that the press has an obligation to properly vet candidates for major office. This was not done in 2008.

I'm not a big Cain fan.I do like the fact that we are finally discussing doing something about the absolutely medieval IRS, I'm just not on board with 9-9-9.

He's fascinating on another level. He's a pretty regular guy, who is likable and obviously isn't perfect. The fact that there are black folks leaving the liberal plantation is also an interesting phenomenon. Makes it a good bit tougher for the dems to categorize the pugs as racist. The commercial with the guy smoking was truly bizarre but engrossing. You have to admit, everybody has seen it by now.

We have no specific allegation of wrongdoing. We have no "victim". It's a really weird non story, that the press is hounding Cain to flesh out for them. I don't think we have ever seen the press behave in such a strange way. You either have a story or not. By most journalistic standards, this is not a story. I do think his responses to the non story are interesting, though.

I'm more interested in seeing who is actually pushing this load of tripe. Is it Obama? Or the establishment republicans pushing for Romney? That's a far more interesting story, IMO.

That is what he has stated publicly just six hours after he denied ANY KNOWLEDGE of the entire thing.

The only person in politics today who would benefit from Cain's demise would be Steve Perry.

Obama would PRAY to get an opponent like Cain, as would the entire Dem Establishment.

If you are looking for dirty tricks, I would think you ought to look within the GOP.
