Experience with Lenovo notebooks

I did some homework on reliability of notebooks and Lenovo brand ranked highest on tech blogs for making most durable PCs. I think Lenovo's ThinkPad line "business laptops" are ranked high for durability, but I'm not sure about their consumer IdeaPad line which is cheaper.

Does anyone have experience with Lenovo IdeaPad or their non business line notebooks. I want to know if Lenovo is good choice to buy, because I'm done with Dell's crap. I have not been lucky with Dell laptops at all, they crap out after 3 years especially their XPS line.

Asus also ranks high in durability but, Lenovo offers faster processor, more memory and hard drive space for the money, especially their Z580 IdeaPad.

my experience is on par with the mentioned tech blogs ..|

If only they could hire some skilled designers.

We have several at work that take a lot of abuse and I can say they are very durable. The only problem we have had with them is that goofy orange/red trackball in the center of the keypad drives everyone nuts and they tend to be a little slower than comparable laptops.

Sadly my only experience is with ThinkPads, which are truly superb. I'm on my 2nd (both IBM, actually), and my parents are on their 3rd in 10 years. They are very well built. I hope that all of this transfers into their consumer line, but I really don't know.

I have an ideapad and I think it's alright. I would only buy a Lenovo laptop for a PC.
