Does anybody else still read the newspaper? i know that electronic media is slowly killing the newspaper but I still love to pick it up in the morning and read it as I eat breakfast

Fark.com is where I get all my news. Plus they have all the snarky remarks that go along with them so it's pretty fun to read.

I havent even opened one in years. Where I live now we get a free local one delivered once a week, it usually sits in my driveway for a day or two till trash day when I toss it in the trash can.

I used to get the Globe and Mail every morning.

And then they kept 'redesigning' it, to make it more and more accessible for the twenty somethings who have the attention span of a gnat.

This meant make it more tabloid sized, lots of type fonts, big headlines and lots of pictures to disguise the fact that it only had about half the former content.

Over the last year or so, as it became just a jumble of poorly composed sound-bite articles laden with spelling and syntax errors and where every article is just a re-direct to something on-line anyway....we stopped getting it and just grab our headlines and all the business news from the web.

As the weekend edition became stupider as well, we realized that except for sacrificing the ritual of spreading the papers on the table so the cats could recline on top of the article we were trying to read, there was no reason to bother with the weekend papers either.

We used to be able to get the New York Times on Sunday, but they stopped circulation in the village.

I still love my newspapers!

I have a 7-day subscription to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

I love to read the local papers when I travel too...My favorite...The Columbus (OH) Dispatch.

I enjoy a newspaper when I have the chance. Sitting down with a coffee on one of those perfect mornings, read the paper etc etc.

In the morning, I sit down with coffee and get my news on the internet. Same effect, less clutter.
