Eye Glasses & Public Showers

No one is so sight impaired that they can not take a bath or a shower without wearing their glasses. If Ray Charles could wash his own butt, so can your friend. But frankly, if he doesn't mind looking foolish, or being thought a perv then I guess he can do whatever he wants.

Besides...naked with glasses on makes you look about as ridiculous as naked with just socks.

I have been hanging out with a certain guy (yay) who wears glasses, and it only seems to make him even cuter.... as to the naked part? I'll report back on that

i guess its just naked in a public shower with glasses that screams of desperation.

Glasses don't work in the pouring rain so why would someone think they would be an effective way of seeing anything (big or small) in a public shower?

Sunglasses, as a disguise, would have been a better choice.

Tacky. Tacky tacky tacky tacky. This is why God gave us contact lenses. Might as well just bring in a folding chair and a pair of field glasses. Nobody, no matter how blind, has a legitimate reason to shower with his glasses on..

Seriously though I feel for your friend. I would hate to go for a shower at the gym and not being able to see the "eye candy".

Then I might as well shower at home and where is the fun in that?

I don't wear my glasses in the shower and I have awfule eyesight. Granted I wear them on the way to the shower but not while I'm actually showering. Just tell your friend to do like everyone else suggested get a peak at the eye candy in the locker room while he's drying off and talking.

My friend is going to try contacts next week he set up the appointment so if that works out he wont have to use his glasses anymore in the showers.

I would have thought he would have liked the excuse of being completely blind without the glasses so he would have to feel his way around the shower room. That would be better than looking!

It's easy to make fun of the weak. Eye problems are not a good reason to disapprove of this guy. If everyone else in the shower can see normally, why begrudge him the same ability? Who are we to tell him to get contacts?

I am so nearsighted that I cannot see my own toes in the shower, even if raised to knee height. So, maybe you're wrong in saying he could have no other reason to need his glasses in the shower.

That said, if you can look around in the shower without glasses, then don't begrudge him the same ability. If guys don't want to be checked out, they'll let him know.

I like your line of reasoning. I never thought of it like that. I was just thinking about appearances but when you think about it having on his glasses is making him equal vision wise with every other man in the showers that is fortunate enough to have 20/20 vision.

So noone should think nothing of it its his right. If he feels he needs his glasses to navigate the showers so be it .

I might have a talk with him 2 and make him rethink getting those contacts because he was beginning to get self concious in the showers but no more.

no but if you drop your wash cloth or have a white bar of soap and drop it, it's hard as hell to find it. in my little shower here at home, i don't wear my glasses, but if i had to shower out someplace i think i might. my vision is very bad. I can't see the eye chart at all, it's just a white blob with black smear in down the middle.

i dont think i'd think too much about seeing someone in the shower with glasses on.

I wouldn't be creeped out by it, though. I probably wouldn't even notice. Because I wouldn't have my glasses on, and unless he was in the same stall as I (or anywhere else within five feet), his secret would be quite safe from me.

Hey guys just a quick update about my friend.


He got a new job and the insurance covered the laser eye surgery so he did the operation on Friday and will be testing out his new eyes at the gym on Wednesday.


He says he feels like a new man.
