For those that wear glasses do you usually buy the same style of frames? The same color? Same material?

I got glasses for the first time when I was 19, I am now 42. I have pretty much only got frames that look the same. I am thinking I changing it up a bit, but not sure I should.

Do you have different looks for different parts of your life?

It's all a matter of personal choice, of course.

I'd only cautiously recommend.

Find a shape and colour that fits the shape of your head/face, and your complection/hair colour.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that squinty spectacles on a round face/head work just like horizontal stripes on a fat belly.

They also don't seem to mind that some frame colours accentuate grey hair.

I have changed my glasses style at least 20 times over the years.

My prescription hasn't changed since I was 12, and I only need them for driving. I don't wear them all the time.

I do have a pair specifically for working on the computers a long time. Don't wear those much, either.

I guess I'm saying that I'm not concerned about fashion. LOL

I have changed the style a few times with my impression of changes in public style. I had thicker frames early on and thin or negligible frames later/now.

I've worn glasses since I was in the second grade. My vision deteriorated until my 20's, when it pretty much leveled at about 20/300. I wear multifocal contacts until bedtime.

Originally, I had to wear those black plastic heavy frames and still hate that look.

I now buy both wire frame and tortoise shell variations, often favoring combinations of the two. I've always loved amber and tortoise shell.

Many people use glasses as fashion statements, favoring garish colors or sizes, but mine is more about pragmatic. Thick lenses don't look snappy and oversized frames make your head disappear in the background due to curvature of the lens.

More importantly, loud style only fits certain personalities. You have to look in that mirror and know it's you. If you pick red, bright blue, or checkerboard or zebra, you have to feel it, else you look costumed instead of dressed.

Adding a little flair is a different story. A bit of accent or whimsy is fun.

Change it up. Enjoy the change.

I do not wear frames: I went rimless as early as I could.

A year and a half ago I had to modify the shape of the lenses because presbyopia was finally kicking in, after almost the whole forties decade of respite, so they are more rounded now at the bottom, and screw the decidedly elongated original shape of my design.
Oh well.

I did rimless for about 8 years back in the 2000's and then decided rims were okay again.

I've seen a lot of rimless glasses on people that cast weird light and shadows on their faces making it look like they have big puffy bags under their eyes -- old tired face.

American technology?

Anyway, most of the time I am seen wearing the shades version, sometimes even indoors (fucking sunny Barcelona) so, even if that happened with Silhouettes, you wouldn't see that one me

I wear glasses and when it's time to get new ones I try and get something like I wear now or maybe little different but something nice or not to pricey
