This thread is about another gay message board I will never use and again going back to the fact it's bad enough you can't be openly gay and be welcomed in regular message boards, but it's twice as bad when on gay boards you get treated like crap.
The site is realjock. It's primarily a bodybuilding and fitness site, and the majority of the members fall under that category. They generally shun overweight guys, skinny guys, twinks, guys who are black and asian and guys who basically are not gym rats.
But everyone is pretty much welcome, from all groups, bisexual and curious straight men are as well.
So I've known about realjock for about a few years now, never registered. I would just google certain topics on the gay culture and I would see realjock pop up on more than one occasion, so I felt my opinion was needed.
I registered a couple months ago, and quickly adapted myself right in. I never made any friends, and nobody ever accepted my outgoing friend requests, yet lots of guys asked for my skype and they never accepted it or logged in, but other than that, I never really connected with anyone.
What made me hate the site, delete my username, and vow to never ever in this lifetime return, is two incidents in which after the first it went downhill.
The first incident a week or so ago, involved around their politics and current events forum. I posted something about black lives matter about how it's not fair to lump every black person on the same ship. One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch. And I called them honkies and didn't go off topic or anything. I was giving back what they were throwing at me.
The members are predominately white on the politics forum, and shit on the minority members, and again like I said are very clique oriented and basically chewed me out.
I got a message from a staff member telling me to tone myself down and this was a warning to basically be an Uncle Tom and don't give into it, even though they are allowed to use similar tones and discussions. Bullshit.
It just went downhill from there. A bunch of my posts kept getting deleted if I said something that didn't go along with what everyone else was saying.
The second incident was my avatar. In order to post on the forums, you must have an avatar that the staff approves of in order to post in the forums. You can't have a private or blank avatar, unless your profile is private and blank, I didn't want to do that.
I also don't want my personal photo shown on the internet. It's my choice. I have had pictures of myself on this website before, and it was nothing but trouble. There are a handful of people here on Jub who know what I look like, and I want to keep it that way.
Even though the rules state avatars must be of you, with your face in the picture, it must be of you, and only you, I saw many users have pictures of their chest, their ass, their feet, pop culture icons, athletes, memes, etc.
So I decided not to post a picture of me. I uploaded a picture of one of the guys from Trailer Park Boys. That was my main profile photo and it was ever since I first joined until a few days ago.
A couple days ago, they deleted that picture, which is fine it's their site they can do what they want, but I cannot post on the forums without an avatar.
So I uploaded another avatar of Dangle from Reno 911 thinking that one would be approved like my previous one of a celebrity was. It wasn't, and I'm still left without an avatar or the ability to post on the forums.
Mind you, pictures/avatars can take at least 24 hours, to three days to be approved I shit you not.
At this point I give them one final straw, I upload a picture of myself with sunglasses on, a baseball cap on, and I'm outside on a boardwalk in front of the suns rays and reflection to where I kinda have some ambiguity shadow towards the picture quality.
That photo was disapproved a couple hours ago. I am fucking livid and I never want to go to that site.
It seems they want to know who the fuck I am so when I'm out in public they can get their mafia to deal with me. That's what it is. lol.
So fuck realjock. It's my choice to not want to have photos of me, and I hate how they deleted my posts even ones that were about music and television lol.
It's real sad that JUB is becoming the only forum I feel welcomed and comfortable at. Emptyclosets is shit, reddit is shit, yahoo answers is shit, bodybuilding forums is shit, realjock is shit, what else is there?
Thank you for reading all of this, and I'm just mad that its bad enough you go on regular message boards that are homophobic and don't welcome their gay members, and you go on gay message board that treat you even worse than that.
