OK, serious Facebook question for y'all.
I'm still on "the JUB Meet trip" and I haven't even reached my farthest point away from home yet. In the next few days I should reach Vancouver BC and Seattle/Tacoma.
I got a Facebook friend request a couple of days ago (in my smaller "hobby" account which has only ten friends in it), and when I tried to log in to FB, the site didn't recognize me, and I had to answer security questions. Unfortunately, the questions involved recognizing faces from a multiple-choice list of my friends. Because I have only ten friends in that account, I was able to answer five of the seven questions (THE MINIMUM) correctly, but I had to pass on two. You are not allowed to make ANY mistakes at all. Fewer than seven, and I would't have been able to log in at all because I would have passed on too many to get five answered correctly.
Here's the problem. The FB account I use for JUB friends and most of my other friends as well, has FAR more than ten people in it. About 60, I think. And, to log in while traveling, I have to "run the gauntlet" of, probably, correctly identifying at least five of seven faces presented to me, with no tolerance for mistakes.
OK...many of these people I've never met in person. Even worse, FB will grab a picture from ANYWHERE in their galleries, so probably pictures I've never seen before. And compounding it even worse, many of the JUB friends use FB names which are different from the screen names I'm accustomed to in JUB.
So, any time I travel without my laptop, I'll PROBABLY NEVER be able to log into Facebook for any reason, because I surely won't be able to recognize 5 out of 7 pictures (with no tolerance for ANY mistake at all), especially from such a large group of people and involving pictures I've never seen, from Facebook names that I don't normally use.
Anybody else run into this?
I looked all ove the home page for any way to ask a question, find an answer in FAQ's, or contact Facebook, but I can find nothing...
Another reason to be less than fond of the site! But traveling without a laptop should be rare for me. I hope, though, that if I ever need to get a new computer and FB doesn't recognize it, I end up being forever locked out of my account for the rest of my life?????
Why in the hell can't I give my own answer to a text security question, and answer it with something entirely original such as "inukshuk" or something?
Help!!
