  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention Facebook: Have you ever been in Facebook jail?

Of course he is team Trump.

Because he is scared shitless of people like Warren and other progressives having enough influence to bust Facebook up.

So the Executive Branch is his only hope.

Yeah - I have asked them repeatedly NOT to send me anything republican or trump ad related and it works for a few months until it doesn't - and I have to re-request it.

WOW - I saw the quiz and had to go over it a few times to figure out what was objectionable. I still am not sure but I think the nudes?

Yep, that one painting that shows a nekkid woman, albeit in a flou artistique, must be the reason. Picture that: 100 years ago it was on publicity posters in illustrated newspaper supplements, fifty years ago it was in primary school textbooks for art class and today it is "objectionable content" according to Facebook.

I clearly and firmly find it offensive and objectionable that THEY found it offensive and objectionable.

The idiots think nudity is a bad thing? We are born naked - we die naked - we fuck and have babies naked - get over it. The fact that FB thinks nudity in art is offensive tells me alot more of zuckerberg and his company and it isn't a flattering picture.

^ You nailed it.

And another interesting video, especially for those who might consider paying FB for advertising: it seems to be counterproductive!

Like a couple of other members, it is a site i have never used. I call it Farcebook, and Twitter, i call Twatter. This is really the only "social" site i use.

^ I call it Fascistbook now, and a lot of exmuslim friends of mine (I had two Arab grandpas, so yes, I move in those circles) call it Fatwabook.

Anyway, it gets worse every day:

And if you are ready to go full-blown Kafka:

"The journalist and activist Cory Doctorow said on Twitter the incident showed Facebook could not moderate at scale, and that automated moderating was not evenly distributed, with some minority groups more likely to have their discussions censored."

My friend made a live video with comments on Trump he somehow landed himself back in FB jail.

Why am I not surprised?

Anyway, I'm getting a bit obsessed about the topic, perhaps, but this video is really fascinating if you love stories about lots of money:

Yesterday I was released from FB jail and did two things: put everything that was public to friends only, and throw out all of the "friends" I don't really know. That means over 150 people that are friends of my few real-life friends and dozens that just saw my posts on FB pages of various themes like Jugendstil and Fauvist paintings. I'm only keeping the people I meet (or fuck) in real life.

Now that a lot of companies want to boycott FB and Instagram in July, I am beginning to consider doing the same. Not post anything. Or at least put anything to "only me" until August 1.

What do you think?

I would like to see a major withdrawal of advertising to shake things up.

I would note that 90% of the shit that turns up on my feed is ads for cheap clothes and shoes from companies (mostly Asian or Indian I suspect) I've never even heard of. I might see an ad from a legit major brand about once every 20 ads.

The worry is that the ads I am seeing may be from less tolerant or liberal countries and if they fill the hole left by major western brands....they may also have even greater influence on content and censorship.

What's 'Facebook'?

- - - Updated - - -

Oh yeah... that account that I am forced to have in order to be allowed to post anywhere on the wide net.

^ May the list keep growing.

I am going to put my privacy on FB to "Only me" on Jun 30 and keep it like that until Aug 1.

Unilever has apparently helped bring FB to its knees today and reconsider their position on hate speech.

I associate FB with trump and fox news and oan now. I see it as a propaganda machine for trump.

Coca Cola followed suit yesterday and FB has lost 56 billion dollars in stock value with the rolling boycott.
