Just joined a few days ago. Have had several people I went to high school with already contact me, we didn't like each other then....why would they want to contact me now? Strange world we live in sometimes.

I only talk to about 4 people I went to high school with. I could care less about the rest of them. It's been 25 years since I graduated, little strange now they want to contact me.

Yeah, that has happen too me too, people who I don't care about from High School will add me. I've finally stopped accepting and started deleting people who I don't talk to or care to communicate with. Maybe I should have stayed off (been on a 2 month hiatus from FB).

I've met people from my high school that never really talked to me 10 years ago. Turns out they grew up and realized what I'm all about in hindsight. It's actually a compliment. My story is unique, everyone else says what you guys say.

Its alot like myspace where people just collect friends. I never add people on my facebook unless I really know them.

I don't either, didn't do it on myspace. I only friend people I actually know, so I never had any crazy numbers like some

you're very luck to have your ex-classmates come to this realization.

gb, I am. Most people knew I was focused on college in high school (read nerd) and at my reunion many came up to me and talked about how they went to school and asked if I was proud of them. It was very strange.

I don't do social networking, period. I suppose I'm missing out on reconnecting with some long lost pal from my child hood, but it's just not my scene.

I have always said that! I didn't like you in HS, why do I want to add you? They just keep requesting.

We live in a VERY small town and everyone knows everyone. This person I HATED in HS kept requesting and requesting and I kept blocking her. This person went to my mother (they teach at the same school) and told my mom to get me to add them! Dumbass ppl! UGH!

and this is the kind of person teaching our kids? I guess she doesn't like rejection, how mature for a teacher

Too many of my annoying ass relatives (including my father) all have Facebook accounts. That and the possibility of reuniting with the shitheads who made my life in high school absolute hell is enough iniative for me not to join.

I can't stand talking or meeting any of them in real life, why in the world would I want to chat about old times on the interwenz for? It makes no sense to me.

JUB's cool though.

you can do like I do, deny...deny...deny. You don't have to put your real name or pic up if you don't want to.

I prefer just talking to people in person. That's what it's all about, really.

i can admit that i hit facebook at least once per day. its one of my favorites on my phone browser, and i usually have a tab open on it when im online. i have gotten in touch with a couple of old friends who i hadnt talked to in almost 8 years, and almost everyone in the marching band at my University has one, so they use it to post events and stuff like that.

I don't go much for the Facebook thing - I thought of friending some jubbers there but, what's the point? I don't really do anything with my Facebook account.

Though this isn't how things USUALLY work, I remember my 2005 high school reunion in Michigan. The guy who I had (by far) the best and most fun conversation with, was the same guy who I totally couldn't STAND when I was in school, and who teased me and otherwise treated me as an asshole would.

Though, in retrospect, I've always been rather surprised that the teasing (and perhaps worse) was only minimal during my high school years - it could have been a LOT worse. I certainly didn't fit into any social norms.

Never had nor would I ever have anything like Facebook, Twitter and the like. I have heard to many stories where it has backfired.

no facebook isnt the devil
but i believe he has a profile

Fortunately I have only had people who I talked to in high school contact me on FB. My theory is that if I did not talk to you in high school, and I have made absolutely no effort whatsoever since graduation to contact you - why the fuck would I want to talk to you now. If anyone tried to "friend" me who I put in that category - I just would not accept the invite.
