LOL. No, it's not confined to just the porn section, there are about a dozen threads that will get renewed for the New Year. We do it yearly with the CF Update thread and the Celeb Fakes thread. I also do it in such a way that the new thread 'flows' from the old thread if people are in mid-discussion etc. There are some other threads that are over 4,000 posts but are 'slow-burners' and won't go over the 5,000 until late 2012.

The actual issue is related to deleted posts and builds up over a period of time. What YOU might see as post #3927 may well be #3994 at Mod Towers when we're trying to sort some issues out etc. It can make some things difficult.

No bidaddy, nothing will be lost. Do to the length of some posts and stuff

in some threads, the threads have become unwieldy and sloppy. This has

allegedly caused some admin problems. The tower is going to ARCHIVE and

save the old stuff..[it will be accessable for reference and perusal.

A new thread will be opened...like Lord of the Rings. book one...now they

are starting Book Two...no loss at all, just easier to handle. A number of

popular threads will go through the process.
