I have this problem with my facial hair. I shave it as smooth as I can but I still look like I have a 5 O'Clock shadow. Then a couple hours later I feel stubble. Is there anything that works to remove facial hair at home? I'm a student whose going to be starting to get into the real world for practicums and jobs and want to look my best for those experiences.

People can tell if you've shaven or not. I have the same issue. my hair is so dark and thick I always look like i have stubble. you could always opt for laser hair I guess or try nair or something...

Dude, embrace your facial hair. While I understand it's annoying to you, it's quite sexy to others who embrace secondary male sexual characteristics. Stop shaving non-stop and instead just always have a five 'o clock shadow, by using a #1 clipper guard.

I have the same issue but don't fret, I have a very simple solution for you.

go back to the glory days of shaving

Double edge blades, safety razors, badger hair brushes.

It will take a little learning to get used to the process (and not end up bleeding like a mofo) however you will end up with the worlds smoothest, closest shave you have ever had.

Using a mach-3/fusion etc I end up with A LOT of irritation and end up with stubble after 3 hours.

Using my Merkur 34c, derby extra stainless blades and some Proraso menthol shave soap I can manage up to 9 hours without stubble.

A good razor will be between 15-100 dollars, with blades being an average of $20 per 100.

note: this isn't my picture, also buying second hand safety razors is perfectly fine off eBay. I have many Gillette tech razors from 20 to 40 years old that cost me $5 and produce a good shave, albeit usually mild. Safety razors are a lifetime investment, not a throw-away product.

Google badger and blade for a good forum that will give you instructions on starting out with double-edge blade shaving, as well as youtube.

I have the opposite problem; it takes so long for my facial hair to grow that my skin never gets used to the razor.

Like whippersnapper Enduster already said, trimming works well and has the advantange that if you skip a few days you'll still look okay.

Thanks for the info! I'm not one who looks good with facial hair I look better clean shaven. I'll have to look into the safety razor route.

Good lad,

Now it will take a few weeks of getting used to the new techniques and face preparation however one of the best ways to learn is from a youtube member called Mantic.

Most of the mistakes you will find in the start of shaving with a double edge blade is all down to technique.

Plus if you like a bit of pampering, this is the ultimate form of man-pamper. You get to use different soaps and shave creams, aftershaves, sharp implements.

LMAO! I doubt that's true. While you yourself may prefer yourself without facial hair, I'm willing to bet 50% to 80% of gay men would prefer you with facial hair. It's you're own insecurities getting in the way.

I haven't seen you but I'm willing to bet I'd prefer you with facial hair

@ Pat and Enduster, I think stubble is sexy too, however in the job world (especially starting out at the lower rungs in business) people expect you to be clean shaven for some reason. Even if you look better with a days growth.
