Under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama's time in office than during Bush's.

Next lie...

Be honest. Does this look like the face of a bigot?

Let me get this straight ... you are saying less people are on food stamps today than 3 years ago?

I'd classify your claim as a big .....

Big Whopper

Jack,

That's not what he (or the article) is saying at all. Can't you attempt to read and understand the article or quote he posted? Take your time, sweetie. It's not that hard to comprehend. You could also look at the very first paragraph of the article, that may clear things up a bit.

I had CNN on as they replayed Gingrich's acceptance speech in South Carolina after the 40+ % win, and my Mom's translation of what he was saying was "The Nigger in the White House."

Of course that's not what he said.

Someone should come up with a "code word translator" for what Gingrich is actually saying. ..|

For example:

Food Stamps
= African Americans (neglecting the fact that more White Americans are on "food stamps" than any other "minority.")

Create More Jobs = WALMART IS HIRING for Part Time "Cart Pushers and Door Greeters."

Illegal Immigrants
= If I have to buy stock in Rosetta Stone to speak to my step-children's English Tutors, there might be some political blow back.

Media Bias = Not FOX NEWS.

Marriage Equality = Being able to marry as many different woman as possible.

Family Values = Hush money, "non disclosure" agreements, "sanctity of marriage."

Hypocrisy
= Obama, Obama, Obama (while leaving out Clinton, Lewinski, and his 2nd Divorce while he was speaker of the House, and pursuing impeachment proceedings against Clinton.)

African Americans
= Niggers.

Liberals
= Socialists.

Patriots = Republicans, Tea Party Activists, and anyone that isn't African American, an immigrant, a moderate, a Democrat, those who want to bomb Iran (bonus if they support Isreal), and anyone slightly to the left of wherever he was when he uttered the word, or has been in a committed monogamous relationship.

..|

There are more white people on food stamps than black people.

Trying to make this a race thing is just stupid -- but it's a common comeback when liberal are confront with facts.

Liberals, blacks don't belong on your plantation anymore or anyone else's.

What I dont get is why the facts continue to be argued.

In one thread it is argued that while Obama took less vacation there was more vaca in his tion.

Here although it is specifically demonstrated that LESS people per year entered the food stamp program than during the previous admin.

So it is just trying to use semantics to argue a empty point.

I do not personally believe the President has fuck all to do with employment. BUT if I did subscribe to that errant point of view then I would have to blame the Previous President for screwing hogans goat on the freaking economy and jobs.

Which of course is WHY so many people need food stamps... because they dont have a job to buy FOOD.

And unfortunately Jack in the South they are speaking about minorities when they talk to entirely white audiences about people who dont work and have a hand out. it is not a valid criticism but it is the view and the Republicans exploit that errant view.

But he says nothing about corporate welfare.

But interesting how the White House will always (every administration) will be quick to claim that any job growth is because of them but that job loss is because of others....and how the Legislative Branch will be quick to claim the same.

Here. Look people.

A crash in consumption is always going to go hand in hand with a crash in production. We see ourselves as a bellweather in the economy. This year, after riding our current vehicle to the end of days, we need a new one. We also need to upgrade out IT in the business. Our appliances are wearing out.

After some five or six years of not needing to consume big ticket items....we need to again.

After 3 or 4 years of caution, we need to invest in capital goods for the business and feel confident enough to do this.

This is what drives an economy. This is what creates jobs. Pent up demand.

Small but significant detail. Bush was in office 8 years, Hussein has been in for three and may very well match or exceed Bush's eight year record this month. Read the article you cited a bit more closely.

It's possible that when the figures for January 2012 are available they will show that the gain under Obama has matched or exceeded the gain under Bush

If he wants to go out and brag that a record number of Americans are now dependent on the government to put food on their tables, that's certainly a right he has earned!

Jackoroe, my understanding is that the numbers are from month by month reports, comparing the same point in time from the Bush administration to the Obama administration. Just a friendly observation from the way I understood the article. They also are saying that when the reports for January 2012 are released, Obama's administration could exceed Bush's but the current trend is not moving up as quickly as in previous months, so it could still fall short of Bush's increase (which at that time will be comparing Bush's January 2004 report to Obama's January 2012).

Oh by the way, one of the people responsible for saving the food stamp program was Bob Dole (R. Kansas).
Compared to current Republicons, Dole is a Marxist.

Isn't it a pesky, annoying fact that the poor, unwashed masses need to eat ?

Even worse, they have to feed their children as well.

Will this "government dependence" never end ? Perhaps we can just airlift 50 pound bags of rice into the most deeply affected area's. That should shut them up for awhile. Of course, we'll need some mosquito netting to keep the bugs off their faces, but perhaps that should be a "talking point" of the next election.

750,000 jobs a month were lost during the final years of the GWB administration, and that figure would have continued had it not been for Obama.

Even with a senate that freezes his every move, he is now labeled "the food stamp" President by Newt.

"Paychecks, not food stamps, !" he cries, except for another pesky fact that Newt has never tried to feed and house and cloth and insure a family of four or five or six on a minimum wage paycheck. Or even two minimum wage paychecks.

And he never will.

But, that doesn't stop him from being an expert on the subject.

What's his next platform, "Let them eat cake" ?

Just in case anyone misses the point being made.

Apparently this president has a new last name. I guess 'Obama' just isn't demonizing enough.

There...that's better!

Nothing would be demonizing enough. Maybe the Republicons can invent something - oh, they already have?
.

Perhaps we should refer to him by his assumed name instead? How about Barry Soetoro, the alias he used until after college? That better?

Demonize someone like Barry? Whatever for? Just because he ignores the Constitution and approves of a law allowing Americans to be held off shore incommunicado for as long as he likes? Or because he orders the murder of American citizens without any due process whatever? Then refuses to even discuss the process by which he arrives at that decision? What's not to like about old Barry?

When an elected official declares war on our freedoms, they should expect to be treated like traitors. Barry Soetoro, AKA Barack Hussein Obama, is an enemy of freedom, as are the members of congress of both parties that allowed this atrocity to occur.

Nobody is demonizing him. He's done it to himself.

^ Wow, look how it grew under George W Bush's Presidency.

The Bush Depression continues to this day. I hope we can dig ourselves out of this hole the republicans dumped us in. Giving too much money to the superrich did this.
