Look, folks: the female friend was talking to this stranger.
She found out his name.
It was Mike.
The OP came out and greeted her.
She said "[OP's name], this is Mike. Mike, this is [OP's name]."
Mike said "That's a faggot name!"
The OP left and went back in.
This was the right thing to do in my opinion. Much as it's fun to think up clever things to have said ("Is that a proposition?"), walking away is the smartest thing to do in that situation. Doesn't give the guy an excuse for any more obnoxiousness or even violence.
