I am now fully over the lad i used to like but i am falling for someone else now... He is two years younger than me making him 16. He is so sweet and cute and is totally different to the other lad i used to like. I am posting this because i want your opinions on an 18 year old liking a 16 year old, is this wierd or perfectly normal?

Thanks in advance guys ..|

remember, love does not have an age limit, but sex does.

and good luck =)

Just be sure that Chris Hansen is nowhere around. But seriously, even though it's only a 2 year difference, many adults may view you as a predator if you pursue this. Personally, in this case, I have no problem with it. Unfortunately, our society has to draw the line somewhere.

Although you're close enough to his age to get rid of the "weirdness" factor (at least to me), there's still the "he's 16" factor. I'd be VERY reluctant to even think about going after a 16-year-old unless he was completely out. Not "might be gay", but "out and proud".

I wouldn't say its wierd, however I would say its most likely illegal because he is a minor

I wasn't talking about the legality - rather, about the mindset of a 16-year-old. I think it's a lot harder for someone under the age of 18 to do anything "gay" without worrying about what the repercussions might be, socially. If he's already out, then yeah - that's not a problem. But if he isn't, it's gonna be a lot touchier, I think...

Hell when I was 16 the legal age was 21 so I flouted the law and don't regret a moment of it. I had a lot of fun and look back with fond memories and no feeling of guilt.

Thanks for the responses guys... He isnt out, well not that i am aware of. I haven't known him for that long but he is really friendly and sweet and i am getting a vibe off him and so is my mate who is also bi. With my luck as of lately i am probably wrong but i guess time will only tell.

Night Guys x

Biandsingle, I thought you were a little less "single" than you used to be, or did I miss something? What about that woman you were going to move in with?

You are fine. Don't let these guys scare you to death about laws and jail. You are doing no wrong in this case.

in connecticut at least, the age of sexual consent is only 16 (the adult in the situation has to be under 30 however unless they are married to that minor)

so in my opinon there is nothing wrong with that

Normal. 2 years isn't that great of a difference. But provided that laws are what they are in the US, no fooling around until he's 18.

You guys, when you comment on threads like this, please LOOK UP the location of the user. The guy is from the UK where the age of consent is 16. Please give him the advice he NEEDS.

Even if we did notice he is from the UK, I wouldn't suspect that everyone here not from the UK are that knowledgeable about their laws. It's not such an odd stretch to assume their age of consent is similar to the U.S.

You like him, he likes you. What's the problem?! =]

You'd be amazed how a brain matures from 16 to 18.

Have some fun, but honestly, don't expect much.

There are, of course, exceptions to everything.
