The producers of the show have said they won't be doing flashbacks.
 
One would guess that trying to film the actual invasion proved to be beyond the budget.
 
The finale wasn't bad with the "twists" I lost a lot of interest as the acting/editing/writing was leaving me a bit flat after the first couple episodes.

I honestly expected at least a "Walking Dead" as Spielberg was a part of it. Have to say there I was disappointed

Spielberg doesn't have the best track record when it comes to television.

I hated the season finale so much. I was basically done with the whole thing until I saw the ending....now I'm on the edge...as to whether Imma return
 
I have watched every episode this season, (was on HULU, but was dropped! Now on TNT online) and feel that this is at once the most boring show I have ever watched, but just interesting enough to keep me watching. :) If next season is this slow, I will stop watching after a few episodes. Any word on whether it is even coming back?

Watched the 3rd season premiere last night. Thought it was pretty good. They've introduced a slew of new elements that give the series some mystery and intrigue. Hall needs to be shirtless more often.

This last ep was a bit slow, I do like how they gave that chick who died proper recognition though. I think it was somewhat needed to give the relationship between Pope, Mason and the younger son something more real or genuine. I can see it working on Pope to make him more likable to the audience, to warm up to. The younger son may start to look to Pope as a role model, over his father....

I don't trust the new aliens though, suspect they may be the masterminds behind it all.
 
Yes, the new aliens are hiding something. I doubt Hal is the spy. I think its the guy that was asked to help find the spy. When the spy was about to shoot Manchester, he recognized the mole. He said its you and was shot. Hal was already out meeting his former girlfriend turned Overlord. Or is she still a puppet, her strings being pulled by another Overlord while she is made the target?

In many ways this show is quite reminiscent of Th War of the Worlds series from 1988. They even had a new alien race come down with the offer of help. But, when the humans were gone it sent a communication back to its home planet, something about the food source being protected. And that was most likely taken from V: the Original Miniseries (and its spinoffs). Just like Independence Day borrowed elements of both. (the alien mother ships were paying homage to V, and the super-weapon the aliens had was inspired by the main weapon of the alien ships from War of the Worlds. As were the energy shields). Not that any of these were bad for borrowing from others.

Connor might not be shirtless much anymore. Every time he's shirtless they have to do all the spikes on his back. When he has a shirt on, they can get away with just the upper few.

As for Drew, it probably wont happen either. It doesn't fit much with the theme of the show.
