Is Family Guy going overboard,or they just want people to wacth. For instance the old guy always looking at Chris,or Brian and Meg at her prom, even Stewiw had a crush, Peter and Loise playing sex games. I still wacth it,but I THINK it is getting almost r rated .But,Simpsons will alyas be my number 1 cartoon.

I don't think it's gone down hill, actually. And I still watch it. Definitely one of my favorites.

Though I think South Park will always be my #1 Cartoon.

I like the show but I dont like the extended fist fights Peter has with the chicken, etc. Ok, we get the joke. Enough already.

Oh yeah, and Stewie saying . . .
ma ma, ma ma, mommy, mommy, ma , ma, ma, ma, ma mommy, mom, mom, mom, mom
"What?"!!
"hi. he-he"

Family guy is getting less and less funny, oddly enough, I think the Simpsons is a whole lot funnier lately.

Still, South Park is atop of them all.

I like Family Guy better then The Simpson's. Simpsons seem to come up with good story lines but they don't seem to know how to end them. But I agree with cAndId, when South Park is on its game (which they were with the latest batch of new episodes) they top all the others by miles. The internet episode is one of the funniest they have done in years.

I think whenever the Simpsons/Family Guy comparison is made people seem to overlook key difference....

Simpsons is on season 19 Family guy is on like what season 4?

Season 4 Simpsons kicks Season 4 Family Guy's ass hardcore

The Sipmsons never get their true credit now adays but fact of the matter is they did something quite amazing, something that any sitcom should be proud to do, because lord knows they all try. The Simpsons captured the true essence of the American family. It's smart, it's touching, it's hillarious, witty to no end, and just a cut above the rest.

I have no beef with South Park. They're definitely stylized, original, hillarious.

Family guy is a cheap hyperbole of the Simpsons. Instead of subtly alluding to things with clever background art or lines from a movie that have been woven into a plot you can enjoy independent of you picking up on them Family Guy takes pop culture references and bashes you in the face with them repeatedly.

I like the Family Guy, but not nearly as much as I used to. They've gotten really pompous. If you're going to do that many jokes about how bad other shows/movies/actors are, you better make sure you are really on top of your game--which they aren't. The celebrity jokes used to be really random and clever... now, they just use any opportunity to say how bad an actor is. Not as funny when all I'm thinking about is how bad this episode is.

I never liked the Simpson's or South park that much. But I love the family guy! That show is very funny! Some of the things they come up with is genius! Even the repeats make me laugh. Now I do feel that South park has gone way overboard. The Britney Spears episode was just gross. I get their point but is South park the place to make it?

Why not? It's pretty much the only cartoon with a consistent coherent political and theological philosophy. Satire sometimes illuminates what reason can not.

They took the style introduced by the Simpsons (and at times the story lines) and just pump them up to obnoxiously large levels.

Long before Peter re-mixed "Can't Touch This" the Simpsons were doing the Bartman....

Family Guy borrows heavily from Simpsons

Your point is well taken.... I just think it's your choice of the work "hyperbole" that's a little questionable :)

for me family guy is still rather new. i somehow missed out on the earlier seasons but over the last couple of years i've become hooked. as far as i can tell they are still producing a great show.

Well I mean I personal think that's what it is when the Kool-Aid man bursts through the wall of a courtroom, a gross exaggeration of an illusion.

I have Mario Lopez in a keyword search for Tivo. His name was in the description for 'Extra' so Tivo recordeed it. It said he is writing a book. There was no segment about him, but there was a segment about Seth McFarlane

i still watch it once in a while, i cant help but hate and laugh at quagmire, theres times where he aint funny...

any1 gonna watch the cleveland spinoff, i would think quagmire of all the characters would get a spinoff...

I think it's kinda mehh now (wth was the deal with the double Star Wars episode, it was so boring and they released a special box set especially for that episode!!!), I feel like it's trying too hard, but there are good moments in between. I still watch it if it's on, but I don't go out of my way to catch an episode.
