Family ties

Today, we took the day off to serve lunch to my Aunt from a bit of a distance, my cousin from Toronto ad my cuz from San Fransisco doibg a bit of a stopover eb roiute from Halifax toi SF.

We served my Graqndmother's soup and a very traditional Dutch lunch and I loved every minute of it. My sister didn't know that our SF cuz was comimg and he didn't know we would all be together.

Best Christmas event ever.

My auntie did, which is always hilarious.

I was exhausted today after the event though.

Good for you. The serendipitous ones are great, aren't they?

I miss having a senior generation nearby to enjoy. My uncle and some first cousins (once removed) are the closest thing I have left. Unfortunately, the cousins live far and my uncle's wife has a long history of being a sour drunk, which makes me really not want to join them for anything any more.

It was one of the highlights of the family year....we had missed being together in the summer because of COVID.

and even though we were at a family wedding in October, this was much more intimate.
