The Farmers' Almanac is using words like "piercing cold," "bitterly cold" and "biting cold" to describe the upcoming winter. And if its predictions are right, the first outdoor Super Bowl in years will be a messy "Storm Bowl."

I dont get it #-o Who cares about Superbowl!? When I first read that, Im thinking about crops! What else they've thinking? Bitter cold winter means tougher crops and expensive groceries!! :x

not superbowl

I don't mind the cold too much as long as it's not accompanied by snow/ice.

this is just great news:help: like last winter wasn't bad enough---if only I liked the south more:confused:

I think it's crazy to have the super bowl in Giants Stadium. If we get a blizzard with 20" of snow, no one will be able to get to the stadium, much less be able to have a football game. Two winters ago we had a blizzard with 20" of snow, five to seven foot snow drifts, then a month later another storm with 19" of snow.

Time to stock up on Dinty Moore.

Neigh Neigh Moose Breath..... the NFL would play on... I have no doubt.

Funny you mentioned this. I just picked up a copy at Lowe's today.

Sycamores are already turning color, but it's still roasting outside.

This area is pretty much immune to polar outbreaks...they can't get all the way to the ocean normally. Rain and mild comes back quickly...so...not concerned.

I struck up a conversation with a homeless guy in Portland a while back -- and it was AMAZING how he predicted the weather -- and UNCANNY in his correctness...

I forget the details -- but BASICALLY it boiled down to him paying SPECIFIC attention to the LITTLE things in nature -- you know, the stuff that none of us notice...

Unfortunately, I haven't run into him this summer -- so I don't know his prediction for the winter...

I'd trust him over the Farmers Almanac ANYDAY!!! ..|

:):):)

Bad winter = very cold and snowy
very cold and snowy=snow days from school
snow days from school= paid holiday!
(just sayin') :D
